Level 58 Trick – 84,000 Gold in 18 Minutes (WoW Gold Guide)

Hey there, guys! This is Reckles with WTBGold and I am here to test what is potentially the best transmog farm out there. A couple of other YouTubers and streamers have been talkin about this. It’s kind of all the rage right now, so I just wanted to go out and test it. I am here, joined with a couple of my guildies. I’ve got Dan, I’ve got my co-tank Hatr, and I’ve got Thorn and Thyst of Lagging Balls. I’ll explain the farm as I go but just to start off. Step one is to level a toon to level 58. The easiest way to do this is to just start a new Death Knight.

They start at 55. And as long as you don’t wear heirloom gear, you’ll get to 58 by the time you finish up in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. But, that’s it. We’re gonna do some leveling. And Thyst, I need some…uhh, leveling XP montage music. Preferrably not something copywritten. [harmonius singing] [voice of an angel] [most creative improv ever] Ok, so, what are we doing today? Essentially, we’re farming the rarest, most expensive, skimpiest, bikini mog. A lot of it’s plate. But the stuff from level 55 to level 60 is generally the rarest. And the reason why it’s so expensive is because when Deathwing came along in Cataclysm he took out all the level 57 and 58 and 59 and 60 mobs in the game. The reason why that matters is…take the glorious legplates for example. They’re level 59 and off a level 59 mob, they have a 1 in 1000 chance to drop.

Well, if you don’t have a lvl 59 mob, you can farm it from lvl 58 mobs. The way gear drop rates worked in vanilla was that if you had a 59 mob and it had a 1 in 1000 drop rate of lvl 59 gear, a lvl 58 mob would have a 1 in 2000 drop rate. A level 57 mob would have a 1 in 4000. The drop rate kept cutting in half every level difference. So, after deathwing came, you could only farm this stuff from lvl 54 mobs, and that’s rough. So what are we doing now? We’re taking advantage of another little trick in the game.

You may remember a while back, blizzard got into a lot of trouble for changing the way scaling works on the Broken Shore, the Broken Isles. Well, this had been going on throughout all of Azeroth for a while. And essentially mobs would scale to your character level. One of the mobs that did this were the Twilight Cultists in Silithus. And so, if you went out there at level 110, the mobs that you may be used to them only having 1,000 health, and being super easily farmable, well they have 3 million now because they are also 110. So, what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna stop XP at level 58 and then we’re going to go out here and all these mobs will be perpetually level 58 and will drop all of this gear that we’re looking to farm.

So, once you finish your DK starter quests and you end up back in stormwind or Orgrimmar, you’re going to be level 58 as long as you weren’t using any XP boosting gear. In order to stop XP you want to go to the Hall of the Brave in Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar, and talk to Slaughtz. He will stop your experience gain for 10 gold. For alliance you want to go to the command center room in Stormwind Keep and talk to Besten. He is also an invisible rogue and it also costs you 10 gold there.

So, once you stop XP, we’re gonna head out to Silithus and there are 3 Twilight camps. The one in the middle and the one at the bottom, the Twilight Basecamp and the Twilight Outpost, those will instaspawn as soon as you kill enough mobs, more will automatically spawn as soon as you cleared out enough of the grounds. The twilight post in the northwest doesn’t instaspawn but it has crazy density so maybe head out there every once in a while. But just go out with a couple of friends or put a premade group finder group together or talk to some battle net people, and just get…the more people you have farming this stuff, the more things you’re going to kill and as long as you’re in a party together, you can loot all the gear from the mobs.

As a group, we just went to Twilight basecamp right in the middle and just kind of haphazardly ran around killing stuff. We had a lot of fun together. We were super tired by this point so we only ran for 18 minutes. But Thorn got 32,000 gold worth of stuff, Thyst got 8,000 gold worth of stuff, I got about 20,000 gold worth of stuff, and Dan got 24,000 gold worth of stuff. So, that gives you a good estimation and honestly we didn’t even really get lucky. No glorious stuff dropped, no exalted stuff. Like we didn’t get the super high-priced stuff that you’re hoping for when you go out here. But we got some decent gear. So, for those of you who care about efficiency, I later went on and just farmed by myself solo for a little bit. Didn’t gear near as much gear. I got about 1/2 the amount of gear we got as a group in an entire hour, but it was still about 100,000 gold per hour, worth of stuff.

The best way to farm these guys is just to kind of hang around right in the middle of the crater in Twilight Basecamp, and just pull one half of the room to you, and then AoE everything down, then run to the other side and pull everything to you and AoE em down. And at that point, the other side will be entirely respawned. It’s fantastic. That’s all I have to say. Moral of the story. In a 3 to 4 man group farm, you can go out here and be pushing 250-300,000 gold per hour for the entire group if you aren’t lucky. I am really excited to do this on a stream and see if we can get a raid group together, how much gold can we suck up? Like, can we get 1,000,000 gold? 10,000,000 gold per hour? What is the amount of transmog that we’re gonna get? So, stay tuned for that.

Subscribe. If you click the little bell next to the subscribe button, you’ll be notified whenever I do that stream, and hopefully we can get you in. I’m gonna be doing it horde side. Like this video if it was helpful. Go out there, with some friends, try this out. Let me know what you get, and if you have any trouble selling this stuff or you don’t know what to do there, go ahead and check out my TSM auction house setup guide in the description. That should be a big help to you. Thank you so much for your time.

Thanks for watching and I’ll talk to you guys later..
