Hallow’s End in Legion 2016 – What’s New
Hi! I’m Hazel, and this is an overview of the 2016 Hallow’s End holiday in Legion. I’ll show you what’s new this year and recap the available pets, mount and toys. Hallow’s End runs from October 18th through November 1st this year. As always, you can pick up a 2 hour buff for 10% rep and 10% experience gain at the Wicker Man outside of Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Don’t forget to grab that before you do your emmissary dailies and Withered Army training! So, what do we have that’s new this year. Well, there’s no new mounts, pets, toys or titles so if that’s all you’re after then you can safely skip the whole thing. Keep in mind that they did add a bunch of pets and toys last year in Warlords, so if you didn’t catch up last Hallow’s End then there will be some stuff for you to pick up.
New in 2016, there’s a Grommash costume for 200 treats on the vendor along with the Lich King and other similiar costumes. These have limited charges, which means they don’t techincally count as toys. There’s a new consumable called the Ominous Pet Treat, which you can get in stacks of 5 for 5 tricky treats a stack. These give your pet a shadowy, corrupted look. This functions like the Magic Pet Biscuit, so if you resummon your pet you’ll need a new one. There is a new daily quest which you can pick up at Legion Dalaran’s neutral inn, or just head right to this spot near Bradensbrook. Click the cauldron, kill Aria Sorrowheart and you’ll get some Tricky Treats and a chance at three cosmetic witch hats. Unfortunately the hats are not Transmoggable at this time – my fingers are crossed that they change that, so just stash these in your bank if you get them to drop.
Last, the Headless Horseman is the same as always but his loot has been updated to 835. You can queue for him starting at level 109, so if you have any fresh alts they might be able to use some of his gear. Next, let’s look at all of the pets you can get from Hallow’s End. The Sinister Squashling has a chance to drop from the daily Headless Horseman chest. He’s cageable and pretty common, so if you’re impatient you can buy one on the Auction House dirt cheap. The Creepy Crate is a reward from a Hallow’s End Questline, which you start from an NPC near the event vendors. He’s not cageable, but it’s an easy questline that shouldn’t take you too long so no worries there. The Feline Familiar is available off the pet vendor for 150 Tricky Treats. This little kitty is special in that she’ll ride a broom around with you when you start flying. Going around trick or treating in all of the world’s Inns should get you enough treats for any pets you want to buy.
All three spooky cats are cageable, so you can buy them if your impatient or farm extras to sell if you’re entreprenuerial. Cursed Birman and Widget the Departed are both available on the pet vendor for 150 tricky treats each. The Ghastly Rat, Ghost Maggot and Spectral Spinner are all wild pets that spawn around a halloween-decorated Garrison in Draenor. Check out my video on last year’s hallow’s end update for more info on all of the Warlords additions to Hallow’s End. There is one mount from Hallow’s End, and this is it. The Headless Horseman’s Reins has small chance to drop from the Horseman’s daily loot chest. If you don’t have one, your best bet is to queue for the boss every day on as many level 109+ alts that you have. I’m crossing my fingers for you. Maybe this is your year! There’s three hallow’s end toys to collect, so check your toybox and make sure you’ve got ’em all. The Little Wickerman is available on the toy vendor for 150 treats.
It summons a stationary mini wickerman that you can use as a cooking fire. The Sack of Spectral Spiders throws a little party of ghost spiders at a targeted spot, where they’ll run around for a bit until they die. This is a random drop off of a boss in the Halloween-decorated garrison. If you don’t have a garrison, you can visit somebody else’s. Last and my favourite, the Coin of Many Faces. This was added last year, and it drops off of pirate mobs on an island in Draenor. It has a 24 hour cooldown, and transforms you into a random NPC for an hour. You can keep the appearance in combat and there’s a really big pool of looks that it’s pulling from, so this is always kinda fun. Don’t forget to get the Hallowed title if you haven’t already by doing the meta achievement. None of these are ruin-your-day level difficult, although you will have to do a smidge of PvP. Thanks for watching! I’m a little bummed that we don’t get new pets this year, but I’m kinda greedy that way. Let me know what you think, and have a wonderful, wonderful day. Bye!
