The PvP Knight!

I’m a knight /warrior so this is clearly specific to that class combination.

As it stands, I’m half way to 50, and should hit it today. Hopefully the second 50 Knight on the PvP server (Darn you Fugen!).

So here are a few skills that I find to should be maxed so take it for whatever you like:

Enhanced Armor
Enhanced Block
25/25 2h Axe Mastery
30/30 Block rate
Shield bash

Here are a few that you should keep as high as you can:
+ Stamina
Disarm (keep this where mana is tolerable mine is currently 75% damage, and about 100 mana per use)
Resilience
Devotion
Threaten
Shield Mastery
Hatred Strike
Shield of Disc.
Mana drain
Charge
Shield of Valor

Also:
Resolution (I have this at +1000 hp, because the mana cost on this is ridiculous)

Now clearly the +agro and shield skills are purely for tanking, because lets face it to get the really nice end game gear you’re going to need to be able to tank. This post will however focus strictly on PvP. If you ask anyone on the PvP server that has either dueled me, or fought me they will tell you knights are overpowered, and to some extent I agree. The most important thing about this build is to get a nice 2h axe. Currently mine is t6 and +6 and with a golden hammer it tops out at about 1700 damage.

Your opening sequence should be the same for every single fight:

Charge, Holy Strike, Holy Strike, Holy Strike, Shock… Disarm/Slash away

You can try to get the 4th Holy strike in but if will possibly lead to the target having a second to pop an ability. This will lead to about 8 seconds of constant stun. After this if most targets should be close to dead if not completely dead If stun fades make sure to use chain of light on kiting classes (mage, scout) and ALWAYS on scout/priest. The major problem with this build is no ranged attack so lasso will allow a rogue to move out of range and heal up to full.

At this point is where you need to be on your toes to finish them off if they are not dead, make sure you use your block rate increase vs melee classes, this will significantly reduce your damage. Use resolution as needed for heals.

Honestly the only classes that give me a rough time are clearly mages with 10m, which I’m trying to work on increased hp, and a Shield of Disc. Macro to pop in shield hit magic absorb and switch back to 2h. Warriors can also be tough if they time their knockdowns well. Aside from that most classes are very easy kills.

My gear is nice, but not spectacular yet:

With a 2h axe equipped

I have about 6.5 pdef, and 6.5k hp with self buffs, and about 1900 attack power.

It’s important you upgrade your armor, pick the pieces with the highest Pdef and go from there:
+Stam
+HP
+Physical attack
+def
+ str
+dex

Is generally what I aim for in that order however once we get a little more data mining on the effects of each stat this may be reordered. Aside from that there really is not much to a Knight, you have the best pdef, the highest HP, and great damage. Clearly not as much as a rogue. Scout, mage, etc but 8 seconds of stun makes up for that in a fight. This is honestly our primary weapon, and once you learn to utilize it effectively you will see the power of a knight.

REVISION:
Charge – This skill does continue to scale, I’m currently working on increasing this I will let you know at what point you can charge and get a 4 second shock off without stun dropping.

Shield of Discipline – Given the mage enhancements it’s no longer viable to just rely on stun to take these guys down, they a few stuns in their arsenal as well, so Shield of Discipline is more important now in PvP. I’m currently at 45% absorb and 6.5k HP and fights with good mages are still pretty darn close.
