Celestials Mini Guide Part 1

Thank you for reading this guide; was meant for new players who want some input to avoid common mistakes made. This guide will help you save time and money!

WHAT CLASS SHOULD I BE?

Choose a class that you enjoy playing or have experience playing with. For example; if you have always been a healer in other games you may want to bring those button smashing skills you learned to this game. However feel free to try something different and if you keep reading I’ll teach you what not to do if you decide to make something different than what your used to playing.

WHAT SECONDARY CLASS SHOULD I PICK?

Pick a class that is going to compliment your primary class. Example a Mage and Priest suffer greatly on defense. Even a same level mob can easily take out a caster if not geared appropriately. In order to combat this pick a secondary class that will increase your defense, stamina or agility. Also you may want to increase your intellect or mana pool; no mana equals death to most casters.
Vice versa while a knight or a warrior may have huge bonuses to stamina and defense while wearing heavier armor they do lack sometimes speed, dps (damage per second) and the ability to heal themselves. In addition you may find yourself buying loads of healing pots spending lots of money.
A good example of a primary and secondary class would be a priest/knight. Knights skills will improve your overall defense and increase your intellect as well. (*Note sometimes its best to put tp (talent points) into passive abilities.) While this class may be a perfect compliment they do use the same energy to perform attacks or shields; so you must be very conscious no to go oom (out of mana/mp). To avoid this mistake make sure you choose which class spell or attack powers will be your primary and stick to it.
A bad example but not overly impossible to level with would be priest/mage. Theres is barely any mage skills that would compliment the priest or good passive skills for that matter. In addition your using the same mana pool and will go oom in no time.
Remember decide what your purpose is and compliment that purpose with your secondary class skills.

Note* Here is a in depth look at secondary skills from all the classes submitted by hoffmeyr. http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=123

Note* Still not sure and have more questions? Thats okay here is a quick FAQ http://forum.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=23764 that will help you further

SHOULD I DO THE TRAINING QUEST?

Absolutely yes! Its a great way to get familiar with the games mechanics, takes less than 5 minutes to complete and you get a free nifty ring with a bonus with your first set of mana or health pots.

IS THERE A WAY TO LEVEL BOTH CLASSES FASTER?

Yes
There is a way to level both of your classes faster. It is called the Cash Shop. There is an equip you can buy that stores experience gained and then turns into an Experience Crystal for you to use whenever you want. The highest one stores 100k experience, which is a couple of levels in the 20s. Just level yourself as your primary class using the equip and when you get a crystal, swap your classes and use it to give your secondary EXACTLY the amount of experience you had just gained as your primary; sawp back, rinse and repeat for easy leveling. (submitted by GoodyKitten)

In addition there is a trick to getting it done right the first time. So lets say you choose to be a rogue/priest. Even thought the priest is your secondary you want to level the priest first. So dont make a rogue in the character selection screen; make a priest. It is the weaker of the two and while questing do not sell armor that drop from mobs I’ll explain why later. When you upgrade your spells, upgrade your secondary spells never your class specific skills. For ten levels its going to hurt a bit but its not impossible trust me on this. Upon reaching lvl 10 you’ll be asked to select your secondary class; of course your going to choose rogue that was your primary goal in the first place. Now for free of cost change your primary class to rogue and make priest your secondary.
Now teleport to home to start those "beginners quests" over. Remember all that gear that droped from the mobs that I told you to save? Wonderful equip them on your rogue (hopefully you found some leather on your journey) and save your priest armor. Sell the rest that you dont need.
As you level your rouge you notice you have a healing instant spell and a shield that you spent your tp on! You will level your rouge in no time now. This method can be done with other classes as well just remember to always level the weaker one of the two and spend your tp on skills you wont loose while making your primary to secondary.

*NOTE remember your secondary skills can never be higher than your primary. Example; when in this scenario your switching your level 10 priest to secondary your level one rogue will only be able to use the priest skills at its level, but as you level you need not to worry about spending tp again your priest skills that you already upgraded will follow as you level; until you reach the same level as your priest. From there on you have to switch again to level your priest spells and so on.

PVP SERVER OR PVE?

Pvp tests your ability to button smash and bring replay value to the game. It also boosts competition amongst guilds and amazingly fun. On the downside be prepared to be killed while killing harder monsters and be interrupted on quests. Also dont forget the long runs back to your original spot.
Pve is better for those that like to just quest with friends without worrying about someone trying to kill you all the time and you will level faster without these interruptions.

*Note: On other top games usually players level there characters on a pve server and once they reach a desired level they transfer them to a pvp server. Not sure when ROM will implement this or have they?

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

When creating a character make sure the name and look of your character feels right, all character are deleted with in 24HOURS so try not to use all your slots.

the guide seems 2 b really handy . i am new 2 rom but not new 2 mmorpg’s . the real difference in this game that sets it apart from others like it is the duel class system . i just started playing the other day im a lvl20 rogue secondary lvl 20 scout. just wanted 2 say that yes your classes have 2 compliment eachother but with certain classes u dont have 2 pick a weaker class. i picked scout cuz the dexterity of the rogue combined with the dexterity of the scout makes 4 a dps machine that dodges and parries like crazy . i have no heal skills but havent bought many health potions cuz even alot of mobs that r 5lvls ahead of me can bareley touch me
