I have seen a lot of new players recently that make the same post, “I know I want to heal, but which subclass should I play?” So, I decided to make a little guide to make your decision a little easier.

Before I get started, there are a few things that need to be known about the skills of a secondary class:

-When the secondary class is picked up, all of the skills in the general skills tab of that class are also obtained at its listed level. (An example of this is Enhanced Armor of the knight subclass which is obtained when the knight side reaches level 12.)

-The general skills’ levels of the subclass are limited to the main class’s level. (If the character is a level 40/50 Priest/Knight Enhanced Armor is maxed out at level 40.)

-Elite skills are obtained when both the main class and subclass reach levels 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50.

-The combination between the general skills obtained and the elite skills differentiate the particular class make-ups and should be the main reason to choose a subclass.

*Note that all of the following is considered for when the player has reached level 55/55 and not while he or she is leveling. Also, I do not point out all the positive and negative points in the following section just the highlights of each class combination.*

Priest/Knight

Positive:
-Divine Incarnation: The effectiveness of your heals is increased by 15% and the MP cost is reduced by 30%
-Enhanced Grace of Life: Your Grace of Life also increases the maximum MP.
-Life Link: Your Urgent Heal now also heals you. (Very useful for two manning instances later)
-Sacrificial Cure: Sacrifice your own life energy to restore a party member’s HP by 30%….99%.
-The knight side generals give 60% more physical defense, 60 stamina and 780 points of mana. (Very Tanky)

Negative:
-Very low DPS in comparison to all other priest combinations (without Divine Incarnation)
-Leveling takes longer in comparison to the other priests (which is already slow)
-No Crowd Control .

Summary: Priest/Knight is considered to have the “best” heals. This class is often seen as a prime example of the classic healer, very high healing without being able to do much DPS. Only choose this class if you are prepared to level slowly, and even when you reach level 55 your DPS will still be much lower than the other priests.

Priest/Mage

Positive:
-Freeze and Lighting: Two Crowd Control abilities.
-Angel’s Blessing: The Angel’s Blessing grants your party restoration of additional 10…50 MP every 5 seconds. Lasts 600 seconds. (This buff can give up to 180 mana every 5 seconds which is very nice!)
-Angel’s Carol: Regenerate 30…255 MP every 2 seconds. Lasts 10 seconds. (Approximately 1.5k mana in 10 seconds)
-Very nice DPS in comparison to other priests and can switch to Mage/Priest (One of the most common classes in the game)
-Has a silence ability that is useful on a few bosses and in PvP.

Negative:
-Has cloth physical defense which is fairly low.
-Has the lowest healing output of the priests (besides Priest/Warrior)

Summary: Priest/Mages can be referred to this class as the mana battery class. The mana regeneration is extremely useful in the party as well as the valuable “Freeze” ability that can be used on almost every enemy in the instances. This class is a fantastic solo class, and normally seen in almost every group. Choose this class if you want to solo or become a loved mana battery.

Priest/Rogue

Positive:
-Shadow Fury: Increases the whole party’s magic crit rate by 10…130 for 600 seconds. (Mages love this buff)
-Decent Damage over Time or DoT damage.
-Snake Spirit: Replenishes your mana when the effect of your Snake Curse wears off. (Not a large amount of mana and this will interrupt the caster in Malatina’s event)
-Quick Spellcasting: Uses your Nimble Hands for greatly increased spell casting speed. (Only a 7.5% increase at level 55)
-Fairy gives 3% bonus magical attack to the party.
-Can dual wield a wand and bludgeon which is more plus healing than a single staff.

Negative:
-Has cloth physical defense which is fairly low.
-No additional healing abilities.
-In order to gain mana, the priest must use offensive spells.
-The damage is more than a Priest/Knight, but still less than a Priest/Mage.

Summary: Priest/Rogues are very rarely played. Although they have a slightly higher healing output than a Priest/Mage, the class does not have the versatility of the Priest/Mage or Priest/Scout it is mainly wanted for the valuable Shadow Fury buff for the casters.

Priest/Scout

Positive:
-Curing Shot: An AoE Regeneration that after 10 seconds will heal more cumulatively than a single group heal.
-Embrace of the Water Spirit: Raises you and your party’s magic attack by 20…620 points for 1800 seconds. (Group buff that is more than the mage/priest self buff)
-Very nice DPS, arguably more DPS than a Priest/Mage.
-Able to equip a bow which allows up to 6 more stats than the other classes.

Negative:
-Must consume potions to prevent being out of mana.
-Has cloth physical defense which is fairly low.
-No Crowd Control.

Summary: Priest/Scouts have the second best healing output as well as maintaining a decent damage output as well. Choose this class if you want to be a more balanced healer .

Priest/Warrior

Positive:
-This is the single priest class that allows melee DPS.

Negative:
-Currently the 15/15 elite gives a static 330 physical attack (which is nothing considering some melee DPS can obtain around 12,000 physical attack) and 44% enhanced defense which is less than having a knight subclass.
-No additional healing capabilities.

Summary: Do not choose this class if you want to heal. If you’d like to physical DPS and healing capabilities Rogue/Priest, Knight/Priest, or Scout/Priest might be a better consideration.

This guide does not include PvP foresight, but I can say that Priest/Knight is pretty much like waiting for the other person to give up and leave or you get bored and leave. If you want to PvP your best bet is probably Priest/Mage

Please keep the criticism constructive; I’d like to help new players entering the game and not have arguments over if you think your class is better than another class.
