At Merchant Geres, you can find the Production Tools necessary for collecting the Raw Materials needed to produce "Refined Materials" at the Master Refiner. Each character class has their own set of tools as color coded above. 

Knife – used at the Herb Farm to obtain Herbs, used by all classes 
Pickax – used at the Ore Mine to obtain Stones, used by Titans, Knights, and Sorcerers 
Energy Collector – used at the Energy Rings to obtain Energy Waves, used by all classes 
Hammer – used at the Ore Mine to obtain Stones, used by Healers, Rogues, and Mages 

Each production tool can only "farm" a certain amount before it will break. 
You will need to buy several of each in order to collect enough materials. 
Each tool costs 1,000 Gold Coins. 

The Production Zones can be found on the maps of Juno and Dratan. 
Juno’s production zones can be found directly outside the North and West Gates of Randol City. 

At each zone you have 2 Methods of Collecting and 3 different materials available to be collected. 

Random - in which you will collect a random of the 3 materials available for that zone 
Specific - you get to pick which material you wish to collect 

Engery Rings – Zeta Wave Energy, Epsilon Wave Energy, and Gamma Wave Energy 
Herb Farms - Yellow Herb Leaf, Herb Trunk, and Green Herb Leaf 
Ore Mines - Flawed Stone, Imperfect Stone, and Quality Stone 

You will need a fair amount of all of these materials in order to complete your crafting requirements. 
You can also increase the speed and efficiency at which you collect materials, by one of 3 ways. 

(1) Increase your Collection Skills 
(2) Use Dratan’s Private Lands 
(3) Use a ToolAid 

Gathering enough materials takes a lot of work, so keep at it and don’t give up! 

Dratan - has 3 Private Lands used for collecting materials. Each zone will boost your respective skill up to maximum efficiency while you are in the zone, such that you would collect materials as if you had max level collection skills. Please note, that there is a Fee of (30) gold coins for every (1) material collected such that if you collect (1000) Herbs from the Siral Farm, then (30,000) Gold coins is automatically deducted from your inventory, and paid to the owners of the Dratan Castle. 

ToolAids – randomly drop from monsters, or can be bought from other players in the market. Although there are (4) different types of tool aids, not all are available in game. Silver, Gold, and Platinum ToolAids are special AP Items available in your local ItemMall 

The Master of Processing can make the Refined Materials, needed to "Create" a piece of equipment from an Equipment Manual, for a small fee per quantity of units made. 

This can sometimes come out cheaper than buying the "Scrolls" and making them yourself, however you can Refine the materials yourself if you want. 

Just visit the NPC’s below, to learn the "processing" skills. 

Once you have your processing Skills, you will need to purchase a "Production Scroll" from the Scroll Trader, located in Juno, next to Merchant Geres. 

Each scroll can only be used Once, successfully. So to make multiple materials, you’ll need multiple scrolls. 

You can also learn "Alchemy" skills and create your own HP & MP potions in batches of (10) units per scroll. 

Potion Production Scrolls can be found at Merchant Geres, and you will need to train with the "Pharmacist" to learn Alchemy.
