So you’re waiting for the game client to finish downloading and being smart decided to look in the forums for tips on the game. Well you’ve come to the right place. This guide will get you started.
First you need to decide if you are going to be able to use real cash in this game. If yes, go to the charge zen on the games home page this is found on the left side of the page.
If no, then you need to learn how to run an Alt or three. This will be covered after we set up your main character.
Your main character starts out without a faction [class]. This is achieved at level15. Until then don’t worry about it. Read the forum posts in the subsection on the factions.
Creating your character.
1. Athan or Human? The choice is yours. Athan characters start in the Divine Realm and do not join the rest of the game until level 30. They also chose their faction at the beginning. Human characters start in Sunstream City. It does not matter which you start in as Levels 1-30 teach you the game through various quests. The exception to this is the Orange colored Treasure quest which starts in Jadeon doing this quest is up to you.
2. What REALM? Again this choice is yours. You will have two choices the PvP realms on the Doom Bog and Shura Servers or the Wildlands Server which is all PvP, which means other players will attack you at will. Or the PvE server which means you will be relatively safe from attack. Each server has a number of realms on it. I will only talk about the Trading Realm which should be your first choice on each server.
In Sunstream City in the Trading Realm [TR from now on] You will find a number of chests with monkeys on them. Click on any of them and you will find things for sale. Red are female characters, blue are male. You will find out that this game has strong gender identities. Armor comes in male and female and your male character can’t wear female armor, or your female, male armor. Explore what’s for sale and make note of it.
3. The screen Upper Left corner is your character. The red bar is your Hit Points. The Blue is your Spirit Points. Spirit is what your spells use and every character has spells they can use.
4. The Lower left is the information panel and the chat panel. You have an upper and lower section. You can change what is shown in the two panels by clicking on the edit button.
5. The lower section in the middle are your hot keys. This is were you will put your skills that you will use frequently. The green Icons here are actions your character will perform. The first is the attack. The second is a skill called hard blow. The third is pick up. You can change these around to suit your self. There are two other icons. The green kneeling stick figure is your recover. Click this if you are low on HP or Spirit or both. The white circular cage thingy will teleport you back to town. It can be used once an hour.
The hot key bar has several other buttons on it. The red fox like figure will summon your pet. Acquired at Level 10. The pot of gold will take you to the cash shop. To use the cash shop you need to do one of two things buy Zen with real money. Or buy Jadeon with in game gold. The Yin-Yang symbol opens or closes your Esper. This is acquired through your Mandatory quests.
6. The lower right bar has various functions. The bottom one will allow you to change how your computer displays Jade Dynasty. Exit the game, change characters or Realms [Realm hopping], contact a GM for problems or get the ingame help guides. The one above that will allow you to check on your pet, craft gear [Acquired at Level 31]. The one above that is social interaction, party settings, Clan and Alliance settings.
The scroll Icon is your quests log. This is also accessible by pressing the Q key. The window has three tabs. Acquired, Available and Events. For now you want to stay on the acquired tab.
The dagger and book icon are your skills. You get a skill point for every level. You get tome points every 5 levels starting at level 15 after you choice your faction.
The bag is your bag. To start you have 24 slots. Some things like potions can have multiple items in a slot. You start with a treasure chest in the first slot. Click this and you will get various things depending on your level. Do this at Level 1 then again at level 5 and there after every 5 levels. To equip armor and such double click it in your bag.
The top icon of a person will reveal your characters stats. What they are wearing and weapons etc. The tabs under the popup window have more information.
The circle in the upper left corner of the screen is the mini map. Green dots are the enders of acquired quests. Pink dots in safe zones are potential quests, outside of the safe zones they are quest monsters [mobs] and can be shown by going to the last button on the lower left task bar then clicking the options button. then the interface tab, then going to the last grouping of check boxes. Click display monsters Then apply then done. Blue are NPC’s with out quests for you.
The last bar in the upper middle is the NPC or Monster you’re currently dealing with. It can also be another player you are interacting with.
Next Acquiring your first set of armor.
You have your first character. Excellent!
What I have no start up money!!!
This isn’t a problem as your first set of armor comes with doing the first Mandatory quests. You will appear in front of Tanis Ka in Sunstream or Guli the Senior in the Divine realm. They will have a yellow lantern above them telling you that this is the starter for a Mandatory quest. Click in front of them and your character will move to that spot. Click the Quest beginner and a popup box will appear with the quest information. You will be sent to the blacksmith, tailor, physician, craftmaster and enchanter. [How to find the people or location for a quest? Press Q and the quest window will open, click on the quest, look to the bottom right half of the popup you will see a name or location in green click on this to move automatically.] Each will give you an item. Upon completion of this you are now level 2.
Click on the Enchanter again. This will start the second mandatory quest. You will be sent to the Esper Mystic. She will send you to Dispatcher and he or she will send you back to either Tanis Ka or Guli the Senior. You have now met the most important of the NPCs. With two exceptions. The Stashkeeper available in all safezones and The Banker who is only in Sunstream city.
The Stashkeeper is the NPC where you store things. You start with 24 slots in your stash. She is also the NPC you go to to extend your bag and stash. She has two quests that require CASH SHOP ITEMS. The quests are only completed when you have acquired the items. So don’t bother with acquiring them until you have the items.
Acquiring the items needed for her quests is simple but expensive. Go to the TR and purchase from another player for ingame gold. Go to the Banker and purchase Jadeon with ingame gold to buy cash shop Items. Use real money to buy Zen. Then buy Cash shop Items.
Now back to the Mandatory quests this is the third one. It will teach you basic combat. The Dispatcher will have sent you to Either Tanis Ka or Guli the senior. They will send you out on a quest to kill 10 wild boars or 10 hard winged bees. The reward is your first Esper. This is a very important piece of equipment.
You have three ways of getting to the monsters. Way one is to click open your quest log click the quest then the monster you’re to go after. Way two is to use the minimap in the upper right corner by clicking on a spot in the general direction. This works only for relatively short distances. The third was is to press the M key which opens up the map and click the spot on it. Works best for long distances. There is a fourth way click button with the sword in it on e right edge of the minimap. This opens a destination list. Scroll down to the destination you want double click it you’re moving there. This way of moving is best for finding NPC’s in the safe zones.
Now to kill Monsters. You’ve arrived at your destination. Click on the monster then double click to attack it or you could click the hot key or press the corresponding number on your key board. Do the same to pick up what they have dropped. Repeat until you have enough of them to complete the quest.
Tracking the amount of monsters or items you need. Along the bottom of the quest log there is one check box and two buttons. Clicking the check box will track all quests that require you either to kill a set amount of monsters or collect a set amount of items. The first button if you click it will track only the current quest shown in the quest log. The second button will let you trash a quest. DO NOT TRASH MANDATORY QUESTS these get you to the next area.
Your Esper. Open your bag and double click on it to equip it. After a few seconds you will begin to see a bit of red along the top of it. This is your Esper’s energy level. When that line of red reaches the half way point you will be able to use your Esper.
At this point you are level 3. If you want to practice combat a bit more go the Dispatcher for a quest or two If you want to continue with the mandatory quests follow the instructions to the next starter. This will take you to Level 4.
By this time your Esper Bar in the lower right of your screen has a button that sparkles on the left side. Press this to attack automatically. It will also pick up treasure automatically and heal you as well if you have equipped the bead the healer gave you in the slot marked HP of the Esper’s hot bar.
Now put yourself in a group of monsters press the sparkly button and go get yourself something to drink. When you have come back you will have killed x amount of monsters, acquired x amount of treasure. People routinely do this and go do something else for a while to get gold.
Be sure to turn off your Esper when you’re done killing monsters.
Setting up your Esper. There are three square buttons on the right hand side of your Esper. The top one is to open and close the hot bar in which you put skills. These skills will be used automatically when you are botting.
The middle button sets how often you want to be healed, what items to pick up, how often a skill is used. The third button is what types of monsters you want to kill. The range in which to find the monsters.
By this point you are level 5
