Detailed Pre-Ascended Lupin Build for Critical Chance
PRE-ASCENDED Build

In terms of skills, Due to high HP amounts, Ancient Prayer is not required for pre-ascended Lupins. Without it, they can already withstand almost all of the one shots. Passives that give critical chance are prioritized. This build is made to maximize the Seductive Brush combo.
Note: Max out Tier 3 before getting anything in Tier 4. Hold off on maxing Dimly Discernible, keep it at 2/8 until you max Tier 5 skills otherwise it will take too long to max them.
In terms of tomes, after seeing that most Lupins never get a Sounds of Nature charm until they reach ascension, I’m skipping Sounds of Nature tome. The Sounds of Nature tome is pretty much useless without a charm, one use of Blessing of Spring is enough for Pre-Ascended Lupins. Thanks to Thicken Blood, Lupins have more survivability than most classes. This build, in terms of PvP, focuses on killing instead of survivability. With Chastity most of your PvP skills will have shorter cool-down, which means less time between kills, essential for a Lupin. This is not to say that you would be a "squishy" Lupin, you should still take very good amounts of damage without dying.
Note: Strong Wind is a priority, then Guilty Conscience, Inexpressible Sorrow, Improved Simulacra, Fruition, and then either Worldly Affairs or Chastity.
Conclusion
PROS -
- You will experience a much easier, cheaper, faster leveling time without sacrificing much thanks to the passives and critical bonuses.
- You will have fun in wars much sooner since you’ll be better built for Seductive Brush.
- Decreased cool-downs thanks to Chastity tome.
- An Inexpressible Sorrow charm will stick with you until 135 ascended, saving you money.
CONS -
- You will not be able to use Ancient Prayer*.
- You will be missing out on the benefits of Sounds of Nature charm, which means you’ll be using Blessing of Spring* only when really necessary.
* If your PvP is done correctly, you shouldn’t be tanking to begin with, therefore this shouldn’t be a problem
THINGS TO CONSIDER -
- Players that use Lupins as they would a Vim, and want have Blessing of Spring more often as opposed to killing, should not use this build.
- An Inexpressable Sorrow charm should be bought as soon as possible and will be used until level 135 ascended.
- A Sounds of Nature charm should be bought after 135 IF you want to change up my tomes a bit to accommodate Sounds of Nature tome.
- Lupins have the highest critical strike bonus damage, it’s imperative that you get as much critical as you can. That being said:
- Aim for a Necklace of Ascension, try to hunt slave for that nifty 4% more critical chance.
- If you are to make an Essence, make the closed star one, usually referred to as PVP essence, that will give you critical as well.
Ascended Dagos Lupin Build for Critical Chance
ASCENDED DAGOS Build

In terms of skills, I’m maxing the passives that some neglected, also getting Fantasy and Full of Love in exchange for Mountain Song which requires a total of 15 skill points for a stun I deem unnecessary. This build is made to maximize critical strike rate and reduce cool downs.
Note: Max out Tier 3 before getting anything in Tier 4.
In terms of tomes, I’m skipping Ripple which some people suggested due to the fact that it simply doesn’t do you much. If you run out of charges you’re usually in a position where you’re going to die anyway; I think the charges are enough considering the short time Blessing of Spring stays on, and the quick cool down on deep water. Since I’m not getting Mountain Song for reasons stated in paragraph above, there’s not need for anything in Fervor other than Strong Wind. These extra tomes give us some happy fun for PvE, with extra damage to sensation skills, extra crits from Worldly Affairs and a happy tomed Fantasy that will save a lot of pots.
Note: Getting Strong Wind and Guilty Conscience is a priority, then Inexpressible Sorrow, Improved Simulacra, Fruition, Emotional Severance and then start going for Chastity and Wishful Thinking
Conclusion
PROS -
- You will experience a much easier, cheaper, faster leveling time in caves without sacrificing much other than a stun in PvP. With this build you will have an array of passive and active buff skills and tomes such as Full of Love, Fantasy, Dimly Discernible, Worldly Affairs and the whole first column in the hate tab.
- You will have fun in wars much sooner since you’ll be better built for Seductive Brush.
- More critical chance due to maxing your passives as opposed to Mountain Song.
CONS -
- You will not be able to stun a single target like Mountain Song* users.
- You will be missing out on a few extra charges for Blessing of Spring from Ripple*.
* If your PvP consists mostly of wars and fort siege, you will not miss these.
THINGS TO CONSIDER -
- Players with bad Alliances that need to rely on Mountain Song too much should not use this build.
- An Inexpressable Sorrow charm should be bought prior to 135.
- A Sounds of Nature charm should be bought after 135.
- Lupins have around 350% critical strike bonus damage, it’s imperative that you get as much critical as you can. That being said:
- Aim for a Necklace of Ascension, try to hunt slave for that nifty 4% more critical chance.
- If you are to make an Essence, make the closed star one, usually referred to as PVP essence, that will give you critical as well.
DAGOS SKILLS -
Following the same critical strike pattern of this build you should first maximize River Dweller II since it’s your main DPS skill and then focus on maximizing Dagos Transcendental Aesthetic followed by The Way of Care and The Way of Intent, I recommend getting at least one level of Seductive Brush II just so you have an AOE and then maximizing Dimly Discernible II. I’ve only gotten so far as to maxing the first two skills, but this is my plan.
CAVES -
You can grind in 105-119 Forsaken Abyss cave with 200G a day liquid profit on a 3 monster spawn using:
- Deity HG Weapon +6 and Deity Armor +3
You can grind in 120-134 Ancient Tales cave with 400G a day liquid profit on a 3 monster spawn using:
- Deity HG Weapon +8 or 120 Deity Skytouch Weapon +9 (Highly recommended, +8% critical) and Deity Armor +6
You can grind in 135-150 Land of Immortals area with 1,000G day liquid profit on a 3 monster spawn using:
- 135 Deity HG Weapon +8 or 120 Deity Skytouch Weapon +9 (Preferred) and Deity Armor +8
ESPER SETUP -
- Small range on a 3 spawn, and do not pick up with just imbuing talismans selected.
- For skills, I used the following: Thicken Blood (3000), Strength of Union (10), Live Together Die Together (10), Deep Water (10), Love-sickness (10), Alchemy Cauldron (10), Fantasy (1) and Seductive Brush (6-20).
- You want to leave the Master Disciple potions on the SP and you should be healing mostly from those while using skills, but in case you get hit too hard, you need to have health potions on the HP. Change the number on Seductive Brush depending on how high your expertise potions are. Thicken blood is used so that if you have a healing pet, it’s effectiveness is increased and so that you don’t die if you disconnect.
