– It’s been proven that having more screen real estate results in higher productivity. So, if you wanna take your laptop experience to the next level, you’re probable gonna want an external monitor. And today I’m gonna tell you about two products that go better together from HP. What’s goin’ on tech squad? Andru Edwards here, editor-in-chief for gearlive.com. Now I teamed up with HP to give you a look at two of their products, which go better together. Big shout out to HP by the way, for sponsoring this video.

And specifically I’m talking about the HP Pavilion X360 15-br010nr, which is a mouthful so let’s just call it the HP Pavilion X360 from here on out. That’s one of HP’s top of the line laptops, 15 inch laptop and the other product is the HP 27xw IPS LED backlit monitor, but we can just call that the HP Pavilion 27 monitor. So first let me tell you more about the HP Pavilion X360. This one has a 360 degree display. What that means is you can move the display all around the hinge.

You can open up like a laptop. You can fold it all the way back and hold it like a tablet. You can move it back three-quarters of the way and put it up in tech mode to use it to watch entertainment. It’s very, very versatile. I mentioned that 15 inch display is actually a inch 1080p display and it supports multi-touch and has edge to edge glass. Since its an IPS display, you get wide-viewing angles up to 178 degrees. As far as other specs go on the inside, you’ve got a 7th gen Intel Core i5 processor, it’s a dual-core processor at GHz, it’s also got a 5400 rpm hard drive inside, it’s one terabyte in space so that’s a lot of storage, but I do wish it was a little faster than 5400 rpm. You’ve also got 8 GB of RAM and of course, being a PC it runs Windows 10. Now the last major thing I should touch on is the battery life, you get all-day battery life here.

HP says it’s good for 10 hours, I found it to be good for around eight and a half, the way I use it, I like to turn my brightness up a little more and I’m pretty much on the internet all day. But, as I mentioned this video is not just about the laptop itself because when you pair it with a display, it gets even better. Now me personally, I’ve been using multiple displays for almost 10 years. I used to just use one display, whether it was laptop or desktop and I was totally fine with it until I started learning about productivity. I like to do things more efficiently, so now at my desktop I have a 5K display in front of me and a 4K display as my secondary monitor. So, I’m gonna do my video editing on one and still have my social media, my email, my entertainment, on the other.

But it gets even more flexible when you do the same thing with a laptop because with a laptop, you can take all of your work with you. So, when I’m on my desktop if I leave I switch over to my laptop and I have a bunch of work that’s still left on my desktop. But, when you use your laptop with an external display, anytime your gonna be on the go, you grab your laptop, you hit the road, and everything you were working on is with you. But the nice thing is when you get back home or when you get to the office where your display is, that’s when you get those productivity benefits.

So, what we’re talking about here with HP is that the HP Pavilion 27xw monitor. This one is also an IPS display. 27 inches diagonal, and you get that same great viewing angle up to 178 degrees without any distortion, full brightness, et cetera. The design is pretty unique, it’s nice and thin with an open-wedge stand design that gives you convenient access to both the VGA ports as well as the HDMI ports too.

This external display is also full HD, that’s 1920 x 1080, also known as 1080p. It’s got a ten million to one dynamic contrast ratio, 16 x 9 aspect ratio, it’s color certified by technicolor, and has a pretty great response time at a millisecond. So, again you take the HP Pavilion X360 and you take the HP Pavilion 27xw monitor and you pair them together and you unleash the power of productivity. You’ve got a great notebook on the go and you’ve got a fantastic workstation when you’re docked at home. And just to show you how truly easy this process is, all it takes is one cable from the monitor into the laptop and you’re rocking with dual screens. But to make it even more convenient, you can even use a simple USB-C dock which will allow you to have your monitor and USB all over one cable. So, there you have it guys. Let me know what you think. Do you use a dual monitor setup? And if so, do you do it with your laptop or with a desktop? I’m curious to know.
