YoYo’s up to 60.
Ahh, so you decided to try getting to 60 with a YoYo?
Believe me, it’s going to be tough. =/
But hey, atleast you can say you did it without needing to use a bow.
(Fixed some errors in spelling, and explained skills and stats in more depth, as of 4/6/07)
…And thats pretty sexy. ;O
I know a guide like this exists, but it is WAY old, and the person who wrote it doesnt answer many of the post v7 Skill questions people had.
First, I’ll start out explaining the stats.
—
STR: Basic attack stat. No matter what people say, YoYo’s damage depends on this stat, not Dex, although Dex is VERY important.
DEX: 2nd most important stat, this determines your Crit rate, your Block rate, your Evasion rate, and your Accuracy. Make sure to keep this at a healthy amount, if you want to exploit what the Jester class orbits around… 4x crit rate!
8D
STA: Ahh, this is pretty usefull if you’re PvPing or Skillspamming Crossline, but if you’re going 1v1 PvM Jester (Which is what most people look to do.) Then you could easily keep this from 30-40.
INT: This is useless… Too bad. Dx
l0l wat shuld i put my stats in?
Hold on there mister, you’re level 15 and you dont know what stats to put in? Okay, let me explain some builds.
Build A: PvP Jester
XXX STR
50 STA
60 DEX
This build is great to level with until 60, but hell to level with up to 75, when this build really shines. To level to 60 with this, you either need to dual client with your FS/RM (…Shh, I didn’t say that.) or Get an RM to help you. Until then, if you want to solo to 60 with this build, use a Maxed Crossline. Someone from my guild did this, and had 2k damage with crossline at level 55. The 40% stun rate makes this Crossline method very useful.
Build B: Str/Dex PvM Jester.
XXX STR
30-40 STA
92 DEX
To level with this build, you really need some patience. There are two ways to pull this build off with exactly 92 Dex (The Attack speed breakpoint) First, is the standard blade build (1 Str, 1 Dex, 1 Sta, 1 Dex…) This is harder to pull off than with a blade, because Yo-Yo’s have a horrible attack power. I started off with a 30 Str/30 Sta, XX Dex to try to get to 92 Dex quicker, it seems to work fine, but you need some vigors. When I first started my character, I went Full Dex, but I was hitting 100′s in the 40′s. Dx
After 60, this build is amazing, you will be hitting hard, hitting fast, and confusing both people AND monsters. ;D
Build C:
The Spam build.
XXX STR:
15-25 STA:
XXX DEX:
This build is really easy to follow, but you will die alot. Dx
Only recommended if you have a FS/RM with you at all times.
I call this the spam build, because it involves you spamming the same two stats like crazy.
lul. wat item should i use?????
Whoah mister, you need item help? Never fear…
Level 15 items:
The Green level 15 set is useless (Stinger, I think.) , in my opinion. I got to level 30 fine without it, and the 10% Critical is useless, because you wont even have the x4 crit rate thing, or enough dex to make crits your hoe.
I did like the Toy Of Iblis. It was cheap, ranging from 200k-1m, and did decent damage, with a nice little ASPD boost. I’d say buy it if you arent funded as well, since it can last you to 40 if you upgrade to +3.
Level 30 items:
The Level 30 Greens (Layered and Miragle) were decent. The Reduced FP and MP that comes from 3/4 is pretty good, and wont cost you more than 150k to get. 4/4 Gives you a +10% ASPD boost, and Combined with a Toy Of Iblis, you can easily get 65% Unbuffed.
The Wheel of Wheelem is really crappy. It has a decent attack, and is sort of good looking, but it really has no side effects that help it. After level 40, you start getting NPC YoYo’s that have more attack, making the WoW useless. Its about 1m-2m though, so its not very cheap, and you’re not getting a good deal for the amount of money you pay for it.
Level 45 Items.
Homg, THE 45 SET IS THE BEST SET FOR ACROBATS! (Crusier/Hyper) I cannot stress enough how much you will be abusing the +40% Critical damage. It makes you hit around 2k Crits at level 60, and close to that as an Acrobat. You will need this set eventually, and it will last you to level 90. I say buy it now, for around 11m, or buy it later. (But before you reach level 70, though.)
The 45 Rare Weapon is similar to the WoW, buy it if you have the money. No reason not to have it, since it outpowers all the NPC weapons up till 60.
Note about the 60 Set.
The Rebron is a decent set to have 3/4 with, it adds +10 Str, (Roughly a strente) and costs about 300k to get. Dont buy the suit, buy NPC suits to compliment the gloves, hat, and boots.
I wont go into the level 60 YoYo, thats for a Jester guide, not a YoYo Acrobat guide. ;D
wat about skillz?
Yeah, I know, you want to pay the bills.
* Dont use the reskill from your first job advance. Save it till level 60.
At level 15-20, put points into the required amount for pulling, then the required amount for slowstep. Slowstep isnt very good to use, and getting it to level 3 gives it enough power to be usefull till level 30. I prefered to save those points instead of wasting them into slowstep. When you get fast walker, put it into the required amount for dark illusion, I use fast walker in duels, and for when I need to get to a far away monster, and dont have time to get on my board. (Like when Gianting or so.)
At level 20-30, Not much happens, except for maybe YoYo Mastery. I Put it to 10, so that you can get the required amount ot continue the tree.
At 30-40, you get Dark illusion, and Crossline. Crossline is a wonderful skill, but its buggy. When put in the active slot, it doesnt always activate, and your character just stands there. Dx
I fully recommend maxing it at this level. I put points into dark illusion for dueling, and for getting away from mobs. Since you still have that reskill from level 15, you can change your points at
level 60 to match your jester skills, and reduce skills that are unnecesscary as a jester. At level 35, you get snitch. Although you need a level 10 snitch and level 4 Deadly swing to get Critical swing. (A Jester self buff that increases crit rate by up to 40%) You wont be using critical swing as a Acrobat, so dont put points into snitch and deadly swing at the moment.
At 40, you get Counter, which is better than crossline, and used as a Jester.
This skill is amazing in PvP and PvM. Let me tell you how it works.
When you press the Counter hotkey, you go into a "stance" which is basically your Acrobat looking awesome for a few seconds. If anybody attacks you while in this stance, there attack will miss, and you will hit them for x4 your regular damage (When maxed) and stun them for 5 seconds. I love using this in PvP against meleers, because they usually dont expect it. When using this against mages, make sure to be atleast 5-7 "feet" (You know what I mean. =x) near them, any farther, and you cant counter their spells.
Counter doesnt work on Bow Users. Sorry.
After this level, all other skills are up to you until level 60. Max Slowstep, Max pulling, Heck, no one cares. It doesnt matter till level 60, when you will use that reskills scroll you got as a Vagrant.
kso wat do i kill?
Ahh, training. The most "fun" part. (If you want maximum exp, try killing monsters 5-9 levels above your level. They should give ALOT of exp.)
Let me break down the monsters.
15-20 (Bangs, NyangNyangs, and Mutant Feferns in the Dungeon.)
20-25 (Flybatts,Mias, and Pumpkins in Saint morning)
25-30 (Manti, Jackhammers, Giggleboxes, and rockies.)
30-35 (Rockies, Hobo’s, and Maids in Southern Saint Morning)
35-40 (Maids in Saint morning, Tombbearers in Rhisis.)
40-45 (Tombbearers, Basques, and Pranksters in Rhisis.)
* at this stage, any of the builds will become impossible to level with, either stick with it, take/buy plevels, or get an RM to help you.
45-50 (Leyena’s, and Steamwalkers in Darkon.)
50-55 (Steamwalkers, Drillers, Steel Knights in Darkon.)
55-60 (Almost there. x3, Drillers, Elder guards, and Garbagepiders. Cranes if you want, but those are hunted like rabbis. Dx)
Credits go to fuzzzle.
