I just thought this might help people decide where they should level and what type of eq to use generally. It is by no means specific, but I hope it will help ^^

Levelling a Psykeeper is often confusing in that there are varieties of methods to level and where to level based on the method. In this Guide, I will talk about where one should level in terms of the 3 most common builds: Satanology, AOE, and Crucio. And finally, I will assume that you know that you should do all the office quests even though in the guide, I may tell you to skip certain mobs.

I have divided the guide into 7 parts based on level ranges. I divided the ranges based on when the proportion of satan, aoe, and crucio psies change. Within each level range, I’ll describe how each type of psy level, where they generally level, and the speed at which they level compared to other builds.

Listed below are the types of builds that psykeepers GENERALLY use at the particular level intervals. This does NOT mean that at a certain lvl interval, you may only use the listed build. It only means that MOST people (that I’ve seen or heard about based on my experience ingame and on the forums) use the listed build(s) at that certain lvl interval.

60-64 Satanology/AOE/Crucio Build
65-69 Satanology/AOE/Crucio Build
70-77 Crucio Build
78-87 AOE Build
88-91 AOE/Satanology Build
92-102 AOE/Satanology Build
103-120 AOE Build

Notice that at lvl 60s, there is a good share of satan/aoe/crucio psys, and by 70s, alot of psies become crucio. Then by 80s, most shift to AOE. The shifts between build to build impact levelling. If you are looking for the fastest levelling route, you may find that you have to restat or shift levelling methods alot of times. However, just because most people go crucio at lvl 60s and 70s does not mean you must do that too! Sometimes it’s better not to follow the crowd ^_~

Please Read This –> Everything I say below is guided by my experience ingame, on the forums, personal experience, and interaction with other psies. Information in the guide is based on what I believe the MAJORITY (not ALL) of psies do at that particular level with that particular build. Yes, they ARE opinionated, which means that alot of things may be incorrect and need correction! So if anything needs correction, PLEASE let me know! ^^ Thank you!

60-64 Newbie Psy XP
Crucio Born, Regular 1 v 1 Levelling for Int/Hybrid Psies

Around this point, the psykeeper is either a crucioer or a 1v1 demonology/psybomb user. First, do the lvl 60 quest that lvls you to 62 (Legendary Redmantis quest?).

Int/Hybrid Psies
Level at cranes, or garbagespiders until you feel that you can move on to cranes. You may cast crucio on yourself if you wish, and use either demology or psychic bomb to attack (I prefer psychic bomb XP). Remember to always level in an advanced contribution party with at least 1 partner! Sometimes, you can get giant crane parties, where alot of ppl level in the same spot, so you can leech off one another. You earn less exp for each mob you kill, but you can gain tiny amounts of exp from other ppl’s kills as long as they’re in the same area, and having more ppl around is always more fun ^^ Levelling speed is average. You should probably just stick to misty/teba or use anoos/ahes. Both have their benefits, although if the mobs hit too hard, use the lvl 59-62 set.

Crucio Psies
Start out crucioing luias. Join a full contri party and partner with an rm. If you are crucio psy, you are the fastest levellers in the game for your level ^^. Just wearing the normal lvl 62 psy set is fine at this point. You may wanna element it if you can’t tank the crits, and +hp is always reccommended. If you have the teba/misty set parts, keep the parts minus the suit, and use those for +hp bonus.

65-69 Path of the Psy Divides
Satanology Born, AOE Born, Crucio Carries On

Around this point, psykeepers gain the 2 other skills that separates them: Satanology and AOE. This level range contains a mix of satan, aoe, and crucio psies. Based on my observations, Satan and Crucio psies make up the majority of psies at this point, while there are some AOE psies.

Satan Psies
You now get satanology … the fun begins ^^ You may choose to stay at cranes until 65, since from fishies onwards, the hp of the mobs increases alot, so killing them will take longer. Many psies may fight Syliacas once they get satan, but alot of them jump directly to Bombtimers until they are lvl 69. Some ambitious ones go fight Mushpoies at lvl 68-69. I never liked Hoppres because it’s hard to navigate through the vines, so I usually jump from bombs to mushies. Because the mob can’t touch you, just satan and kill with spirit bomb. I prefer not to fight mobs so high lvl, that you have to satan it more than once, because the act of recasting satan makes killing the mob slower. If you have RM partner, get them to holycross your mob for double the fun xP. Levelling speed will start to slow down at this time, but it’s not terribly slow yet. I reccommend misty/teba or anoos/ahes set, guardian wand, and anything else that adds int.

AOE Psies
You finally get to aoe with maximum crises ^^ are you excited? XDD Ok, at lvl 65, I suggest aoeing Garbagespiders and/or Cranes. You will be able to take on alot of mobs especially with RM, but remember not to spawn hog. XP As you near the end of the lvl 60s, you should consider aoeing Syliacas and/or Mongs (do NOT aoe the ranged mobs!), but their hp’s are alot higher than cranes, so pay attention to that XP. Levelling speed will be faster with more mobs you can aoe, so this is a decent levelling method ^^. I suggest wearing the normal psy sets, with elemented suits and +def or +hp. Guardian wand is good for this as well. (psst … not alot of people level off Boos and Nautrepies, so feel free to aoe there too)

Crucio Psies
Just keep moving through the range of mobs above Luias until you reach Glaphs, which you should be crucioing around lvl 70 if you have full sta. Your eq should be the same unless you feel like elementing it again to fit the element of the mob you are crucioing. Just be sure not to have too much defence so that you won’t be able to reflect back enough damage. Of course, you are still the fastest lvlers in the game.

70-77 Where Did all the Int Psies Go?
Satanology Fades, Crucio Domination

Around this point, alot of psies restat to full sta and go Crucio. The amount of AOE psies stay about the same, but the amount of Satan psies decrease tremendously! Why? Because Crucio is the fastest way to level and Satan is now the slowest.

Satan Psies
Lvl 70 is where the pain of being a Satan Psy kicks in. You will find that you kill slower than many other classes and certainly than the other types of psykeepers. But this does not mean you should quit. There have been quite a few psies that survived being Satan type during the lvl 70s. Most people quit or restat because they see the huge amounts of new Crucio psies. As for mobs … I personally enjoyed lvling off Mushpoies during the low lvl 70s just because it was easier to find a party there. From there, you can choose between …

ALTERNATIVE 1 (Recommended): You may want to switch to Irens at lvl 72-73 then Watangka at lvl 74-75.
ALTERNATIVE 2: Move to mines around lvl 76-77 if you have really good eq with high atk rating and int, and fight Blue Roaches or Pinky Roaches. Try to get into one of those mine parties (where basically all of the party members level in the same area) so that no matter how slow you kill, you can always leech others at the same time. (But if people yell at you for killing to slow, don’t blame me XP)

I’m unclear on what EQ is best to use, but definitely get the Historic Wand when you can. You can continue to stick to your lvl 45/60 green set, but the lvl 75 set is reccommended if you have the cash for it (even though psy sets generally aren’t worth that much at higher lvls as it is XP).

AOE Psies
If you cannot aoe Mushies yet, then stay at Mongs until you can. Bombtimers are ranged and Hoppres are aoe-able but are spread too far apart for my taste XP. You should around 70-73 be able to move to Mushpoies. Now you may choose between …

ALTERNATIVE 1 (Recommended): You may look to aoe Irens during the mid 70s, and then Watangkas during the high 70s. (psst … not alot of people level off Boos and Nautrepies, so feel free to aoe there too).
ALTERNATIVE 2: As early as lvl 76-77, go to mines and aoe Blue Roaches although they crit ALOT and you definitely need good strong eq (both in defence AND in atk, because your damage will be REALLY bad) for this. If you can find a giant mine party (where basically all of the party members level in the same area) at Pinky Roaches, you can always join that, and kill mobs one at a time while leeching your party members XP (But if you get yelled at for leeching, that’s your fault XP)

Always ALWAYS element your suit! The lvl 75 set is great for aoe psies as is the historic wand. The levelling speed is pretty good, and at mines, you’ll find later, it gets better (if you can find good spawns that is >_>).

Crucio Psies
Guess what? Crucio psies are STILL the fastest levellers, no surprise eh? XP But they get slower and slower the higher level they get. Stick to Glaphans. If you find that you are being dealt to little dmg the higher lvl you get, take off some +def eq. Otherwise, teba/misty parts is still recommended. Now … I HIGHLY suggest sticking to glaphs, but if you feel like you can take it, try to crucio the new mobs in the desert. Let me warn you. They have rage mode, and hit really hard when they’re about to die. You probably won’t be able to tank the final crit unless you wear high def eq … which kind of destroys the point of trying to take in alot of dmg to reflect alot of dmg.

78-87 Migration to the Mines
Crucio Dies, AOE Domination, Satanology Revives

Crucioing is no longer effective at this point (unless you move on the crucio new mobs). There are a few crucioers remaining at late lvl 70s and early lvl 80s, but by late lvl 80s, they have basically gone extinct. So AOE psies replaces Crucio psies as the new levelling trend, as practically all psies (AOE and/or Satan) move to the mines to level. Satan psies, neglected prior to this time, now receive more notice as Crucioers vanish.

Satan Psies
You still level slow in comparison to AOErs I think ^^;; Anyway … Keep whatever eq you used (the lvl 75 greens are usually the way to go from what I’ve seen although some people stick with the lvl 45/60 green sets). For mobs …

ALTERNATIVE 1: I don’t know any Satan Psies, to be honest, that have done this, but I would think it would be ok to level from Watangkas or Antiquery … through all the mobs as you lvl … up to Shuhammas. <– someone tell me if this is good ><
ALTERNATIVE 2: Head to mines and fight Pinky Roaches or if you’re in the mid 80s, Trillepies. I strongly reccommend that if you fight at pinkies, join one of the mine parties and lvl with a bunch of other people in the same area. It makes levelling sooooo much less stressful.

AOE Psies
I’m gonna cut right to the chase XP

ALTERNATIVE 1: Watangkas are ok to AOE in my opinion, but the spawn is rather spread out. When you hit 80, consider aoeing Antiqueries. They are alot better to AOE in my opinion. If you want to move on to Luias etc. you can, but the spawns after antiqueries become really spread apart. I just like sticking to trees XP
ALTERNATIVE 2 (Recommended): Most aoe psies will head to Mines and aoe either Blue Roaches or … more popular, Pinky Roaches. They give great exp at lvl 78-80. This will be the fastest way to level for a psy at this time. Yes, exp will decline as you go through the 80s staying at mines, but it’ll still be fast by other standards. I suggest staying at Mines until lvl 88. Once you are lvl 85ish, and you feel that there are too few pinkies to aoe efficiently, you can certainly aoe Trillepies although it can be quite a pain since giants spawn spontaneously. I stayed at pinkies basically the whole time till lvl 88. Use a water elemented roshel/rupel set and guardian wand. +def or +hp is good.

Crucio Psies
If you still try to crucio at this point, Glaphs will offer rather small exp. Although from 78-80, crucioing Glaphans is still nice speedy levelling, though not so much better than aoeing at mines. After lvl 80, if you really want to, try crucioing the new mobs. But for the most part, most people stop crucioing after lvl 80.

1) I’m not a high lvled 9x or 1xx psy yet, so I don’t have personal experience. I can only get info from flyff forums and people I meet ingame.

88-91 I’m In a Rut
Satanology Rises, Satanology vs. AOE

The Mines are no longer a very good place to level unless you move to the trillepy room, which is very dangerous for RMs. Outside the mines, the mobs are spread so far apart that alot of psies revert back to Satan build and 1v1. This level range is transition from fast paced mines to slow grinding of the higher levels. It is called a "rut" because at this point, most psies must choose between different mobs to lvl at and which build (aoe or satan) to choose. Satan and AOE psies are pretty well balanced in numbers at this point. I believe AOE psies still level faster though.

Satan and AOE Psies
The mobs they fight are … surprisingly the same during this time o.O … You can stay at mines and fight Trillepies (this applies to AOE psies more), but most people would probably prefer to start on Shuhammas (if you are aoe, you may try Gongury too, slightly lower lvl than Shus), and then Kerns (for AOE psies, lvl 89-90 would be a good time to start on these guys). Satan psies can probably move on to Glaphans by the time they are lvl 91-92. AOE psies should still stay at Kerns. XP

For eq, use the lvl 90 Gynas/Genuin set and Angels Wand. For Satan, I think +atk would be good but also +def or +hp if you’re afraid of getting aggroed to death. For AOE, +def is always a good choice, but some people choose +hp, and you can add +atk if you think your dmg is too low.

92 -102 Just Grind
Satanology vs AOE Continued …

The mobs that psykeepers fight are now narrowed down once again. This is a long grind and Satan psies and AOE psies are still holding out strong. However, based on what I’ve seen, there are more AOE psies than there are Satan psies. The mobs are more closely packed now, so AOEing is very efficient (although spawn rate and the crowding is bad for aoeing).

Satan and AOE Psies
Satan Psies should be at Glaphans by lvl 92-93. Move on to the new mobs as needed. AOE Psies usually go to Glaphs at lvl 94-96, and stay until lvl 102-103.

103-120 Migrate!
Satanology *basically* Dies, AOE Domination Part II

I have very little idea of how this lvl range levels. But I’m pretty sure that at this point, they’re at the new mobs. I don’t think Satan psies are good anymore at this point, because you can only rely on skills to kill mobs, and no matter how high your int is, cast rate is too slow too gain exp as efficiently as other classes (melee classes in particular). To make it up, most psies go AOE and kill several mobs at once to make up for slow casting and killing rate. The mobs are also VERY CLOSELY spaced, and several are aggros. AOEing seems much more efficient. That is not to say that an int build won’t work. You can have little sta and rest int and still AOE as long as you have the eq to make up for it, but notice it’s still AOEing. >_<

AOE Psies
Chimeridons at lvl 102ish … and then go from there >_> (someone help me on this XD)

The new lvl 105 psy set is good for AOE from what I’ve heard, and use the 105 Legendary Golden Wand.

Okay … Obviously this guide needs work and I’m sure I have misguided information somewhere. If anyone has advice, changes to make, etc, please let me know! ^^ (information on lvl 8x/9x int psies might be flawed as well as lvl 90+ information … so any help in those areas is greatly appreciated!) ^_~
