Alright, so I haven’t seen a complete FS -> Ringmaster guide including skills, stats, and everything inbetween. So here it is.
Gotta start somewhere
Level 1-15
Ahhh the dreaded vagrant days, just grind grind grind. If you can find yourself someone to buff you, that’s even better. DO NOT PUT POINTS INTO VAGRANT SKILLS. I highly recommend you get your job quest items right now. You need (10) Forforms, found from Mushpangs, (5) Peakyrinds, found from Peakyturtles, and (1) Poporam, found from Doridomas. For stats, I recommend pure STR, they get reset at job change anywho.
Time for a Job Change!
Assist Job Change.
So many skills to master, so little time.
Now you’re level 15, you have 88 skill points under your belt, what exactly do you do? Max Heal right now, and save the rest of your points. Now for stats. Well there’s pretty much 2 types of FS, CW and Full Int. CW would be 30-50 STA, rest int. And Full Int is just that, full int! I recommend a 35 STA, rest int approach. I learned the hard way that you need a little STA to survive those aggros. Right now, pour those 28 stats into Int.
Stat Layout
As of Level 15
Str : 15
Sta: 15
Dex: 15
Int: 43
/shout 15 FS Looking for Partner?
Alrightey, so here’s when it gets a little tough. The best idea would be to go to SM via blinkwig, and run your little butt off to Giggleboxes and find yourself a partner. I did it the hard way and leveled 15-34 with people my own level, because I had no idea about Plvling, I’m hoping you guys have it easier. Here’s a little tip for nabbing yourself a partner; find someone fighting, and heal/buff them while they’re fighting. They say Ty and you ask, need a partner? Make sure they’re alone, if they say yes, ask if they have a party. If they say no, watch those shouts,
remember, Full ADV Contri parties are your friend. If you can’t find one, just party normally and fight while you wait! I also realize you only have HEAL at this point in time, but people still appreciate it!
Zomg! First buffs! LETS MAX EM!
Level 18
Do not, Do Not, DO NOT max your first buffs. I know it’s tempting, you have the points, and they’re there, but don’t. Just get Patience and Mental Sign level 4 and you’re good to go. Be sure to cast Mental on yourself before using the other buffs! Now just keep leveling.
WTFZ. YOU FORGOT MY STATS!
Level 16-20
Calm down. It really is your choice for stats. I recommend pure int till level 30-40 then get your STA up to 35, then go back to getting int.
Heapup? Does that give more damage?
Level 20
Alright here’s where you get a GOOD buff, Heapup. It increases STA by 2 each level. So Level 20 (max) = 40 STA. Godly right? I know. Max it ASAP. Oh and don’t forget to get Quickstep level 3 for Haste. Also be sure to get level 1 Resurrection
Lalala, I love this exp gain!
Level 25
Now is when Mercs start LOVING you. Haste & BeefUp. Now I realize at this point you’ll only have 9 SP to work with, but that’s okay! I Advise getting level 4 haste. Then just keep leveling it, but be sure to get Beefup level 4 before you get level 35.
WAHHH I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH SKILL POINTS!
Level 30-34
I know it sucks now, why couldn’t you have gained 90 SP like those darn magicians at job change! But it’s okay. It’ll all be good in the end. Here I suggest neglecting Cat’s Reflex until a higher level, and here’s what I’d do. Level Haste until it’s level 10 (should take you till Lvl 29), then get BeefUp level 4. This will take you to level 32. And up to level 34, get Cat’s Reflex level 4, you’ll need it for Cannonball.
CANNONBALLLL!
Level 35
Okay, I personally think this is the second most important Assist buff there is, below HeapUp of course. You wanna spend the next 11 levels maxing out Cannonball
Monotony
Level 47-60
Here’s what you’re at (at Level 46)
Heal – Maxed
Cannonball – Maxed
Heapup – Maxed
Cat’s Reflex – 4
Haste – 10
Accuracy – 0
BeefUp – 4
Mental Sign – 4
Quickstep – 3
Patience – 4
SO. now we finish maxing Haste This will take to level 51. Now we go about Maxing BeefUp! This takes to 59. Now you have 2 SP left. I advise putting two points into Accuracy, because buffs with ‘Odd’ levels have 1 minute less on their timers. So Level Level 59 & 60 points go to Accuracy. Now you have 2 SP to do whatever you like with. I’d save it.
RINGMASTER! ZOMGZ!
Ringmaster Job Change.
I highly suggest you get someone to help you out with venel, took me 3 tries to get the heart. And I solo’d drillers with my friends Gknuck+3 that I borrowed, it’s pretty easy when you’re buffed.
OKAY so now you have 102(100) SP to put in. This is what I did, maxed Mental Sign, got pre-requisites for Gvur Tialla (4 into Resurrection, Circle Healing, and Prevention). Maxed out Protect, and maxed Gvur Tialla, and HolyCross and I had 6 SP left.
Fortune Tellers
Level 60-65
Save all your points and then max out Spirit Fortune when it comes your way.
Tips
I gots no munay!
-Politely ask if your partner will share drops with you. Don’t be really greedy, no one likes greed, but you deserve stuff too! I’d say ask for any sticks, any items for your assist/rm gender, and a 50/50 split in items neither of you need that they sell.
I died again! Rebuff pl0x!
-No one likes a bad FS, remember to keep those buffs in tip top shape, if you see an icon blinking, rebuff! I usually buff myself first, then buff them, so when I see my lowest timer buffs (Cat’s Reflex) blinking, I rebuff myself, and then rebuff them!
Lolz n00b you dun do nethin!
-Don’t settle for less than you deserve, you are a VITAL part of your partners survival, and you enable him/her to be able to earn more exp, and your buffs are very valuable. Remember, there are PLENTY of people who would APPRECIATE your help, so don’t settle for a partner who bull shats you.
That’s about it for now, I’m still only level 60, but I’ll update this as I progress on my RM. Hoped this helped you to become a better FS/RM. Any feedback is 100% welcome.
