| (Old Guide but still a good read)
Ok, as of today i re-wrote the skill informations. They’re up-to-date compared to the CB3, so you can rely on them unless they’re going to change a lots of things for OB.
Later i’ll add in some tested builds – note that they’re not for 2nd jobs yet.

For ranges, i simply compared the cast-range to the basic cariad auto-attack (cariad range is 100%). Note that these numbers are rough estimates.
Hands of Healing
An instant healing spell, with spamming this you can achieve the best heal/second. On the other hand, it’s manacost can drain up your MP pool pretty fast, so if you’re going support with this, you will need some WIS.
INT seemingly has a positive effect on heals, but Coilean’s sources are saying that for full support, you’re better off with more WIS.
Also good in PvP to get your health up or to heal others.
Cast range: 100%+
Curse of Leaf
Reduces physical and magical defense of target, giving damage bonus to anyone attacking the target. This skill no longer has Damage over Time part, and it seems like it has lost some of it’s effectiveness – i wouldn’t recommend getting this skill, or maybe it’s usefull for offensive supporting (meaning you cast it on the targets of your party).
As for PvP, the duels seem to be rather fast in this game, i doubt you have time to cast it.
Cast range: 60-80%
Light Transition
Basic attack skill, dealing more damage than your normal attack. In CB3 the cooldown has got increased to 5 seconds. Also, it got some bad MP cost now, so spamming this often would cost a lots of WIS. Also, our Darkness Transition has a far better DMG/MP ratio, so if you want to get an offensive 1on1 skill, i wouldn’t recommend this one.
Cast range: 100%
Darkness Transition
Another damage skill, with Damage over Time. The one-hit-damage is a lot higher than the light orb’s one, plus it has a great (!) Damage over Time part. The description about the DoT is bugged, it does more than 5 times more damage than the skill description says. Plus, the MP cost is rather low compared to it’s effectiveness. This one is some mad DPS skill, and it should be your main skill for 1on1 grinding.
Since it got a good cast range and no cast time, for PvP it’s rather usefull.
Cast range: 100%
Power of Ghost
MP regeneration passive. Max it by any cost, it’s a really important skill for any kind of saint in the current version.
PvP it’s completly useless.
Thorn Trunk
Immobilizes the enemy for a few seconds. Quiet good skill for 1on1 grinding, starting a fight with this you can spare a lots of your HP. However, the MP cost can get dangerous. If you’re going to grind 1on1, and don’t like to use healing skills or want to neglect defense buffs, you should get this skill to lvl3, where it’s MP cost is still bearable, and the 8 seconds duration is rather nice (4 free hits for your Cariad).
In PvP, it can disable any melee class for a few seconds, which is quiet usefull.
Cast range: 100%
Continous Recorvery
Heal over Time. Got a great buff for CB3. It’s the cheapest way of healing we have right now, as it heals a lot for a really low MP cost (for example, 1080 HP healed for 201 mana on lvl6). Since you want to avoid using MP at any costs, you should use this when you’re grinding 1on1 instead of your normal heal. Also, in simple grind-parties (when you don’t have to spam heal unlike AoE-ing or bossfighting), you can easily keep your party’s health at full with this. If you’re a damage saint who doesn’t want to support, i’d suggest you maxing this skill instead of Healing Hands. If you’re support, get both.
In PvP, you can pre-cast this during the countdown, which will give you a fair health advantage against your enemy in the first seconds of the fight.
Cast range: 100%
Blessings of Nature
Buff increasing defense of target.
The defense bonus is really great, and keeps nice as you increase the skill lvl, and the cooldown is also short. Duration is 10 minutes, you can easily keep a whole party buffed with this. The MP cost can go quiet high, so for partying you’ll have to use a few potions tho.
It’s really good for both PvE and PvP.
Cast range: 80%
Chain of Light
Stops the enemy from attacking for a few seconds.
The target enemy can move, just can’t attack. The spell has instant-cast (no bar).
The MP cost is scary (lvl1 costs as much as an lv3 thorn trunk), so for grinding i wouldn’t recommend this skill. Might come in usefull as a life-saver, but you can’t afford to cast it on every monster you fight.
However, in PvP this skill sounds like a cheat – a ranged instant-cast spell which prevents your enemy from attacking.
Cast range: 100%
Thorn Shield
Increases defense of target, and returns damage to the attacker. This skill would need a buff as it’s quiet useless right now for grinding. The cast time is too long, and the duration is only 20 seconds, with a 30 seconds cooldown. You can’t keep it on yourself for grinding. Also, it returns 50% on all levels, plus the defense bonus it gives is really low compared to BoN’s or BotE’s. If it gets a duration buff, it would be really usefull for dagger saints, but as it is now, even if you want to use it, don’t make it higher than lvl1.
On the other hand, in PvP this can be quiet handy – you can again pre-cast it during countdown, dealing some extra damage to anyone attacking you.
Cast range: 80%
Resurrect
Resurrects a dead character.
On lvl1, it resurrects with 30%hp, on lvl2 with 50%. Since now the resurrected amout of HP is % based, that’s one more reason to keep this skill at lvl1. But get it for lvl1, i can’t imagine a saint partying without this, even if he’s a darkness saint. :]
In Party vs Party it doesn’t work.
Cast range: 100%
Prayer
Increases the amout healed by your healing skills (Recorvery, Hands of Healing – not sure about Resurrect)
The bonus is great, but i have this skilght feeling that it doesn’t affect Continous Recorvery. Even if it doesn’t, full supports should skill it. If you’re going offensive, i don’t think you can spare skill points for it.
Armor of Light
Reduces damage taken by percentage.
Another bossfight skill – it didn’t change for CB3. =\ Cooldown is 90 seconds. On lvl1 it reduces 5% damage and has a 40 sec duration, on lvl2 it’s 8% and 45 seconds. The 5/8% is really low in daily fights, but might come in handy against bosses. Also, because the duration is short, you can’t keep it on permanently. I wouldn’t level this skill unless i don’t have too many spare points.
In PvP it could turn out to be good when maxed, but i think you’ll want to put your points into something else.
Cast range: 80-100%
Depravity of Soul
Increases magic damage
Don’t misunderstand the name, it increases the dmg of light skills too. The bonus is moderate, but still, but it’s added your skill hits and on your cariad auto attack, so if you got spare points and are an offensive saint, this isn’t a bad thing to waste the skill points on.
Sacrafice Heal
Heals the target, while damaging you.
Seems like this skill heals the amout of hp you lost on the target. So for example, if you’ve got 1000 hp, and you’ve got this on lvl1 (which is 15% life transfer), you’ll heal 150HP on the target. Sounds nice, the problem is that you shouldn’t put many points into PHY STR, so your life will be around 600 even over lvl30. You’re better off with one cast of healing hands.
Cast range: 100%
Fog of Darkness
Damage and DoT in a designated area.
AoE skill, pretty powerfull: the instant damage + the DoTs can remove more than half(!) of the monsters’ life in the target area. Casting time is a bit slow, the cooldown is 25 seconds, quiet fast for a skill like this. Really owns, but one nerf it got for CB3. The MP cost is HUGE now. If you want to AoE grind with this, you will have to sit a lot or wasting tons of points into WIS. There are people saying that AoEing is still good, i myself believe that 1on1ing is faster, but obligated to relay their opinion. Decision is yours.
For PvP however, it’s without a doubt a pretty good skill. This skill doesn’t miss if the target is in the AoE (yes, with this an lvl25 can damage an lvl40 quiet badly). Also, you can pre-cast it during countdown – well a skilled one will avoid that, but at least you can cover your sorroundings with it against melee fighters.
Note that fullPRIEST is saying that this skill does miss sometimes. Since the game isn’t avalibe right now, we can’t test it.
Light Wave
AoE damage skill. Also does really great damage, more than 1/4 of the monsters’ life. Combined with Fog of Darkness, it leaves life on monsters worth of 1-2 hits only. 15 seconds cooldown, the casting time is a little bit faster than FoD’s. It also has a rather high MP cost now, but a lot lower than FoD’s. For party AoE-ing i would get this over FoD, for solo AoE-ing i have again no idea, ask fullPRIEST about that. :p
About PvP, it can be used the same way FoD can.
Breathing of the Earth
Defense, HP, and melee(!) damage buff.
The cooldown is 1,5 minutes, but the duration is 15 mins, so you can easily keep a whole party buffed if you keep attention. The defense bonus is really good – roughly as much as BoN gives. It also gives a considerable damage boost for melee fighters – any dagger saint would want to use this skill. Plus, since CB3 it also includes a HP buff – getting a few hundreds of extra HP is never bad.
For AoE-ing, it’s recommended to have both this and BoN.
For PvP, obviously, it’s good to have it on before a fight.
Cast range: 100%
Door of Darkness
High damage skill which stuns.
The in-game description let’s you think it’s an AoE skill, but it’s not. It deals HUGE damage to the target monster, and stuns for 4 seconds (might increase with level). Cooldown is 30 seconds. Well, another skill ruined by CB3. The MP cost makes it literally useless, the MP it consumes is more than the damage it gives. 1 point on it for shamans as pre-requrement, lol.
In PvP, since the casting time is rather long and looks fancy, any chained enemy will run out of your range so you won’t be able to stun them. However, you can thorn-trunk melee fighters then continue your lock on them with this.
Cast range: 100%
Lawful
I’ll update the builds with informatio and explanation on each a bit later, meanwhile back to watching Rosarito + Vampire ^_^
Since Wevy asked this question too, guess i’ll note it here as a first:
Why are the builds only made up to lv40? Simple – because the 2-nd job change is going to be at this level, and i doubt you’ll want to lose skill points wich you could of thrown into your second job skills.
So anyways here are the skill builds:
Saint 1v1 PvP Build 1:(Full INT)
Heal – 1
Light Transition – 10
Chains of light – 5
Mana Spawn – 2 (Optional, could leave at lv1)
Cursed Leafs – 1
Thorns – 5
Spikes – 1
Darkness Transition – 1
Heart of Darkness – 7
Fog of Darkness – 5
Light Wave – 1
Blessing of Nature – 1
This build is oriented on 1v1 PvP fights, its got minimal healing since you won’t have time to waste on healing those 300hp in a battle.
Light Transition is maxed for the best DPS outcome since this skill calculated with the time you spend for casting it, cooldown it has and compared to all the other spells, has the highest DPS.
Chains are maxed being your best friend to render a foe helpless while you spam your Transitions.
Thorns are also maxed incase the target tries to run away when he gets sealed with lights, or just used on a mercenary to have the same effect as chains since he can’t do ranged damage effectivly.
Spikes are at lv1 but i didn’t make them as a prequisite, its a must to have them atleast lv1, always cast them in the countdown before the duel to provide you some extra damage if the opponents gets to land a few hits.
Heart of Darkness would be maxed since you’r going to need all that extra power into Transition light.
Fog of Darkness was maxed just for leveling purposes to make life easier ^_^
Light Wave was also made lv1 to help out FoD.
And blessing of nature got 1 point same for leveling purpose, you won’t benefit from def in a duel anyways since you’ll be mainly concentrated on keeping your opponent sealed.
The Mana Spawn spell is lv2 just out of the simple mater that you got 1 spare point in the end, so i just decided to kill in there, you may aswell use it on anything you see fit instead of mana spawn.
All the other spells are just prequisites for the main ones.
Saint 1v1 PvP Build 2:(Full INT)
Heal – 4
Light Transition – 1
Dark Transition – 10
Chains of light – 5
Mana Spawn – 1
Cursed Leafs – 1
Thorns – 5
Spikes – 1
Darkness Transition – 1
Fog of Darkness – 5
Light Wave – 5
Blessing of Nature – 1
The second 1v1 PvP build is oriented with Dark Transition as you main damaging spell.
Unlike the first build you won’t be relying on DPS as much so you won’t be needing Heart of Darkness, having 7 more points to spare.
The heal would be lv4 to ease up your leveling capabilities and also help out your AoE’ing.
As usual we need maxed out chains, thorns and spikes for the reasons in the first build.
Also giving up on Heart allows you to max out Light Wave for a even better AoE’ing purpose.
Saint 1v1 PvP Build 3:(Full INT)
Heal – 5
Light Transition – 10
Chains of light – 5
Mana Spawn – 1
Cursed Leafs – 1
Thorns – 5
Spikes – 1
Darkness Transition – 1
Fog of Darkness – 5
Light Wave – 5
Blessing of Nature – 1
This build is a mix of the first two builds, by giving up on Heart of Darkness to maximize Light’s damage you can aquire a higher level heal and both AoE’s maxed out , making your leveling life alot easier.
Saint Mass PvP Build: (2PHY 2 INT)
Heal – 9
Recovery – 1
Prayer – 3
Light Transition – 10
Chains of light – 5
Cursed Leafs – 1
Thorns – 5
Spikes – 1
Fog of Darkness – 5
This build is mainly oriented for Guild Wars and Mass PvP.
Since you’ll be giving up mainly on all your def buffs to aquire maximized efficiency on killing targets, you’ll be forced to max out your Healing abilities.
Since your giving up on def, the stat build is suggested being 2PHY/2INT to maximize your HP amounts.
The healing is going to prove being really useful both for you and your team mates, leave the def buffs to the average saints or the full support ones.
I took lv9 Healing and Lv3 prayer to maximize your healing abilities, if your going to ask if its better having lv2 prayer and lv10 healing then i’ll be saying that no, since you have already quite a high heal the % from prayer is more important, also your going to be a big help to your team mates.
Chain and Thorns should be maxed to seal off dangerous enemies or those who’r trying to run away.
Fog was maxed since in a mass PvP fight you’ll have alot of chances to hit multiply enemies without even being noticed on the comotion, light wave wasn’t taken since you won’t have a chance to cast it, basicaly the enemies are just gonna spread after being hit by FoD so for that case we get Light Transition to finish individual targets off.
Spikes are as always a life saver and also your protector, not many enemies are going to go for you if they see you with spikes on, also since you’ll be having alot of HP they’ll mostly die off themselves from trying to kill you, also you can probably heal some of theyr damage too so no big threat.
Saint Full Support Build: (Full INT) (8 Spare skill points left, only 32 spent)
Heal – 10
Recovery – 1
Prayer – 3
Sacrifice – 1
Blessing of Earth – 6
Mana Spool – 1
Nature Blessing – 10
Ressurect – 1
Then comes the support saint build.
This one is a paint to solo level with…well actualy you can’t even level alone with him xD
The healing spell is maxed out for maximized healing abilities, prayer is also maxed to even further increase your healing abilities.
The build you should be taking is Full INT to again maximize your healing abilities.
Recovery tho is a healing spell, only its totaly useless, prayer doesn’t work on it, neither does INT so you’ll be healing a few times more with 1 Healing Hand than a recovery.
Sacrifice is also a useless spell since you won’t have any HP to transfer to your targets.
All the Def buffs are maxed out to support your party in any way, basicaly cause of them you also won’t need any PHY at all.
Resurect is lv1 since you won’t need it higher, just heal your target a few times after its ressurected.
Mana Pool is lv4 to keep you from draining out of mana, tho its still a debatable question, you can leave it lv1 if you don’t see a need in it and level those 3 points into any spell you’d like.
Saint AoE Skill Build:(Suggested Full INT , or 1PHY 3 INT, or full INT with occasionaly PHY)
Heal – 5
Recovery – 1
Prayer – 1
Sacrifice – 1
Blessing of Earth – 1
Mana Spawn – 5 (Optional, could leave at lv1)
Blessing of Nature – 10
Ressurect – 1
Light Transition – 1
Chains – 1
Light Wave – 5
Cursed Leaf – 1
Thorns – 1
Spikes – 1
Fog of Darkness – 5
Could forget BoE and get lv3 prayer.
Well this build is your perfect AoE build.
The build allows you to go full INT. But you might need to use HP potions sometimes or throw a few points into PHY as you see fit, but i doubt you’ll need any with the maxed Nature Bless.
About the skills now:
I’ve taken lv5 Heal and lv1 prayer to have a average healing abilitie, just enough for yourself, probably 2 heals = full HP with your low Phy.
I’ve taken the Earth Blessing buff for some extra 11 def , but you can also ignore it and spare 2 points and throw them into Prayer to upgrade your healing a bit more.
Mana Spawn was taken as lv5 to have a perfect mana respawn and never run out of MP in crucial moments.
Also you’ll need to max your main DEF spell that is Nature Blessing, it having a huge def bonus at lv10.
Ressurect is lv1, but thats just for friendly helping out, or if you decide to Duo AoE with some1 else, its gonna be useful.
And both AoE’s also need to maxed, well thats logic tho ^_^
All the other spells are uneeded and go as priquisites.
Also its going to be a little tough getting to lv23 with lv1 light transition but thats bearable ^_^
Mine is lv3 and the damage difference is like 15 betwen lv1 and lv3 and i have whatsoever no problems with leveling.
This build thos isn’t really good in any other aspect besides fast leveling, its weak in PvP since the AoE spells have a long cast time and you’ve got no lasting sealing spells, an average healing ability but a pretty high defense, so you’ll probably survive more-o-less in mass PvP.
EDIT: Also since they say Mana Spool is pretty much useless when you get into the higher levels since your MP regen will increase alot, you could leave it at lv1 and get those points into Blessing of Earth
Wevy’s indea:
For STR saint, this is what i had on lvl37 with 1 unused skill, just before i restatted (stats are obviously full str):
Heal – 6
Curse of Leaf – 9
Transition of Darkness – 9
Bless of Nature – 5
Breathing of the Earth – 3
Recorvery, Prayer, Sacrafice Heal, Resurrect, Mana pool – 1 each
By 40, BotE, Curse and Transition would get +1 points (i kept them always capped).
P.S. Since the game is still new, all the builds weren’t tested and mostly theyr based on proprial speculation, calculation and spell bonuses and atributes.
Since this is just the begginer stage of the game, the builds will tend to change, especialy after the 2-nd classes are going to be introduced.
Credits go to Wevy and Lawful. |
