Intro

Hello I am Ace01 your favorite scout of Teva, chances are if you are reading this you want to learn how to properly AoE with Archers. In this guide I will give you my opinions on how to AoE by yourself with a group or as a Duo. I will also give combos and suggestions on what skills to use and the proper empowerments to use. Using Pictures (which I will add later) I hope you can either get a grasp on how to AoE or improve your own technique. This guide is for Lv.51-74 mostly, but if you are lower or higher then you can still learn a thing or two.

Section 1: AoE Duo or Solo

Intro to Section 1

The benefits of being in a duo is simply this, more exp, and more drops. You only need to worry about one person which would be your cleric, or in the case of soloing its just you, you need to worry about. Cons would be you can get pushed around, greater chance of dying because you are tanking and damage dealing, and all around less safe for you.

Chapter 1: Where to Go

PvP Maps The most common places to AoE are the PvP zones. They yield the most mobs, most drops, and the most exp. This comes at a price since its the most dangerous. Since this section is where you duo it is most likely you will be pushed around when you go there, because the rooms are in high competition to take. Most parties will kill you so its best to keep an eye out and when another party tells you to go…you better go.

PvP Maps Include For THIS Guide.

50-59 Passage of Abyss

60-69 Dungeon of Abyss

Other Maps Other maps are much more safer. Less mobs mean more control and you cant be killed by other people (unless you are warred). Best Places and Mobs to AoE for the following level ranges (again for this guide) are…

Map: Uruga
Level Ranges Recommended: 51-54: 55-58
Mobs: Chickens, Pixies: Orcs

Map: Ancient Elven Woods
Level Ranges Recommended: 52-56: 57-60: 58-68
Mobs: Archons, Greenkeys: Red Trumpies: Blue Trumpies

Map: Forest of Slumber
Level Ranges Recommended: 69+
Mobs: Slyphs, Stonies, Orc Captains

Chapter 2: Getting Ready

Why is it Archers Are Any Different? Archers are a "Jack of All Trades" type of class which means we can pretty much take ANY role in a party, besides clerics of course (you can try healing your team but it probably wont work XD). That means you can be, Tank, DD, or DPS.

What do I Need? Archers have the second lowest Defense then all the other classes, so its obvious that we need scrolls to tank. My suggestion is always get the best equipment to get the best results, so please use t2 or t3 scrolls and Potions. Recommended scrolls are Evasion, Defense, and Vitality, but Defense and Vitality ARE A MUST.

Bow or Crossbow? When you AoE you will constantly use AoE attacks which means you wont be firing many arrows, so to maximize your damage its a good idea to get a Cross Bow for more power and critical rate then regular bow which offers speed and aim that you don’t need.

Tanking Builds The best build for tanking is either of these two, one is COMPLETELY useless for everything else besides tanking and the other is fairly good for both tanking and PvP.

50 DEX the Rest END
This build will make you a good punching bag, allowing you to take hits that most clerics and some fighters cant handle. The DEX will cause the mobs to miss repeatedly. Other then that the fact that there is no damage or critical bonus makes this build useless for anything else beside tanking.

25 SPR the Rest END
This build will give you the 5% critical most archers have and the defense a lot of clerics posses. You will be able to take hits and deal some nice damage with your AoE attacks. This build is for tanking and defensive PvP.

Chapter 3: Duo or Solo?

The Duo Option Before the patch doing mass AoE with a cleric was very very important, otherwise you would burn HP stones and Potions like crazy, and it would take longer. So if you don’t want to spend half the loot you have on stones and potions I suggest you team up with a cleric to kill more faster and save more money.

The Solo Option Now since the 6/9/08 Patch classes have been able to cast instant cast skills while running. This eliminates the 1 second pause to use Natures Mist (Poison AoE). There are two methods I’ve found to kiting solo with the two AoE Skills given.

Method 1 Natures Mist Only: Using Natures Mist only allows you to keep moving and use less (or no) stones because you don’t stop kiting. How ever this takes longer then method two.

Method 2 Natures Mist & Multi-Shot: For this you will use Natures Mist as often as you can but every 2 Nature Mists or so you use a Multi-Shot. This will cause you to nearly die and use stones and pots but you will waste less time running and faster kills.

Chapter 4: Tanking and Killing

Chapter Intro: This is were you need to pay attention this is were the real skill comes into practice, this is were you cease from just being a damage dealer to full on tank and DD. You need to kill everything while keeping yourself, and your cleric buddy alive.

Setting Up Your Hot Keys When you are the tank and the damage dealer you are basicly taking the role of two classes and for that you are doing double the work. So that means your AoE skills and Potions need to be in the bar. This is an Example of a GOOD hotkey set up for Tank AoE with Archers.

*Note* This is my opinion on setting up your bar like this is not nessasary.

Empowerment There are 3 Skills that I recommend you to empower.

Aimed Shot-Full Cool Time, Full Damage
This is so you can take any mobs off of the cleric quickly if they stray off of you.

Multi-Shot-Full Cool Time, Full Damage
This is so the mobs argo will be on you alone and you will kill faster, full empowermet allows you to spam Multi-Shot to the point were its cool time is faster then heal.

Natures Mist-Full Cool Time
All mobs need to be posioned as soon as possible before clerics take argo for all the ones not poisoned. This saves the extra waste of SP for pulling mobs off cleric.

Steps to Tanking

1. Poison ALL the mobs first if it is absolutly nessasary to keep all mobs off the cleric so you are the only one in need of healing. If they are not all poisoned by the time you use Natures Mist a second time intergrate Aimed Shot, and your DoT skills (Damage over Time (Fury Impact, Bone Shot)) into the mix to get all the mobs argo on you.

*Note* Move while fighting, because of a skill bug the Natures Mist skill dosnt always get all the mobs, on really massive scales 20+ Mobs the skill will only poison 3-8 so in that case keep the mobs to a minimum of say 17 and under.

2. Now that all the mobs are poisoned this is the combo you need to use in order to keep make you an argo manicac.

-Natures Mist
-Multi Shot
Run Until Cool Time for Multi-Shot is Done
-Multi Shot

Repeat until mobs are dead.

3. Extra thing to keep in mind are, watch your health your cleric should be healing you but you are a team so use a stone here and there to lessen the panic. As an Archer there is a chance you might die so keep an eye on your health.

Section 2: Party Mass AoE

Section 2 Intro With Party AoE its the same thing Map wise, though I HIGHLY suggest you go to the PvP maps, there you can kick out duos and kill weaker parties to get a spot and get all the benefits. The benefit of being in a party means, you are much more safer, very slight chance you will die, and less money on scrolls and potions. The greatest con a Archer has is found in these type of parties…you are useless, I will tell you later why.

Chapter 1: Making a Party

For Parties going to the PvP maps it is likely you will be killing 20 Mobs or higher and like I said before there is a bug with the Nature Mist Skill as shown below that makes archers fairly incapable of helping besides picking up items. For this reason you need the following Members.

Class: Fighter
Level: Within Suggested Map Level
Amount: 1

Class: Cleric
Level: Near the Max of Suggested Map Level (Ex. Suggested Level 50-59 Get 55+ Cleric)
Amount: 1 if party has 2 Mages

Class: Mage
Level: Within Suggested Map Level
Amount: 1 if party has 2 Clerics

This and you creates a full party, and should be enough to take out mobs properly.

Chapter 2: Where to Go

PvP Maps The most common places to AoE are the PvP zones, and like I said before I highly suggest you go here. They yield the most mobs, most drops, and the most exp.

PvP Maps Include For THIS Guide.

50-59 Passage of Abyss Located in Elderine Forest Perimeter Map

60-69 Dungeon of Abyss Located in Uruga Forest Perimeter Map

Other Maps Other maps are much more safer. Less mobs mean more control and you cant be killed by other people (unless you are warred). Best Places and Mobs to AoE for Parties are shown here, the Cleric and Fighter should be the Max Level, DPS/DD should be in the Level Range.

*Note* These are again my opinions you do not need to be in the actual level range.

*Note* The level ranges ARE different then the ones in the other part of the guide.

Map: Uruga
Level Ranges Recommended: 43-47: 48-53: 54-58
Mobs: Chickens, Pixies: Orcs: Orc Hunters, King Mushrooms

Map: Ancient Elven Woods
Level Ranges Recommended: 48-52: 50-56: 52-62
Mobs: Archons, Greenkeys: Red Trumpies: Blue Trumpies

Map: Forest of Slumber
Level Ranges Recommended: 60+
Mobs: Slyphs, Stonies, Orc Captains

Chapter 3: Getting Ready

What You Need Now that you no longer are tanking all you really need is the HP/SP buff given by your cleric. You will need stones as Archers still draw alot of argo. Also you use less SP if you have a Mage in the party since they decimate everything before you let an arrow fly.

Bow or Crossbow? For parties it is likely you wont be the one killing the main mobs since the mage will kill them off before you can finish cast time on your Multi-Shot. So I suggest you go with the regular bow for more speed and aim since you will be killing mobs one by one. If there is no mage in the party however you need a Crossbow to get the job done.

Setting Up Your Hotkeys For Party AoE For party AoE you don’t really need to keep an eye on your health as much, so now you can use all of your skills and not just the AoE skills. Here is an example of a HotKey bar for AoE Parties.

*Note* This is my opinion on setting up your bar like this is not necessary.

AoE Party Build There is really only one really good party build, it is the most common build for archers and almost every archer uses this build. Its very flexible, works in parties, soloing, and PvP.

25 SPR the Rest STR
This build also gives you the 5% critical everyone every archer loves. This build deals so much damage it kills single mobs instantly and packs a punch in groups of mobs. Not only that since it is so damage dealing it is useful in PvP in terms of it does the damage you need and a few lucky critical hits can seal your opponents loss.

Chapter 4: How to AoE in a Party With/Without Mage

With Mage As I said above archers cant really poison much you can see in the Pic below, so its Mages that do all the work. Here are the Archer’s role in a massive AoE party.

-When the tank is dragging big mob, you kill surrounding mobs that may attack your party.
-Kill all mobs that are attacking the cleric, its better you die then the cleric.
-Kill left over mobs after Mage kills main group.
-Kill long range mobs ex.vivis, pinkies, procks, ext…
-Pick up items drops.
-Comic Relief.

Without a Mage Without a mage killing is extremely slow, you might want to suggest that the fighter drag less so Natures Mist can be used better. If you have two Archers that may help but killing will still be very slow. The only thing you can do is spam your AoEs and pick off mobs on the cleric. Make sure you use Natures Protection as often as you can also.

Citation: As you can see only about 1/8 of the mob is effected by Natures Mist.

Well thats all my knowledge of AoE for Archers, now weather you are Duoing, Soloing, or in a Party you know how to get the most out of your Archer. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did typing it.
