Conjurer is the wizard class of this game, huge damage spells, Area of Effect spells, but unlike many would think, they are NOT squishy!
Why? Because their 2 main affinities are Pyra and Unda (Fire and Water). Just that alone makes them have a huge damage and high health. Also, their spells help on absorbing and even preventing damage.
Main Affinities
First, know that you will get 5 stats points every 5 levels, but the max you can invest on any affinity is half your level (rounded up).
That means every 10 lvs you can have one specific affinity at lv5 (and 5 free points). That means you can invest massively on 2 affinities.
Quote:
Pyra
Pyra, or Fire, is your main affinity, 2 of your spells use this element.
It add the following benefits:
+ 3 INT (all your spells damage, except first one)
+ 0.05% Critstrike (normal attacks chance of criticals)
Unda
Unda, or Water, is your second main affinity, 3 of your spells will use this element, and those are your strongest spells.
It adds the following benefits:
+ 20 HP
+ HP/MP regen (value is pretty low and unknown).
Secondary Affinities
Secondly, note that you CAN keep 2 affinities always at best value, but if you wish to try different builds you can invest on other elements, but your main spells will suffer with that, since none will use any of those elements, keep that in mind.
Quote:
Oora
Oora, or Metal, will add the following benefits:
+ 3 STR (normal attacks and your first spell damage)
+ 0.05% Critcast (spells chance of criticals)
Widu
Widu, or Wood, will add the following benefits:
+ 1 INT
+ 1 Resistance
+ 0.2 Resilience/Evasion
+ 0.05% Critstrike Bonus Damage (extra damage when a critical physical attack lands)
This helps improving your damage overall, but doesnt replace all the damage you lost by not investing on your main affinities. The good part of investing on this element is that you will have a better magic resistance (maybe a better mage PK) and better evasion against physical attackers.
Erda
Erda, or Earth, will add the following benefits:
+ 1 STR
+ 1 Defense (helpful to survive physical attacks)
+ 0.2 Accuracy
+ 0.05% Critcast Bonus Damage (extra damage when a critical spell lands)
Now, why would anyone invest on those 3 if they dont help on your damage?
Although you might want to be the best living nuclear bomb on the town, that also means you will steal aggro from your tanker quite easily, and you only have your HP to absorb that impact (and bosses hit hard), so you might want to try different builds to help on surviving. Your Ethyr skills also might allow you to try different builds without utterly sucking.
Also keep in mind that you start the game with 1 point on each element. And every 5 levels, another point is added on those elements. So if you invested 10 points on Pyra by lv20, your Pyra Affinity will be 15 points.
So, any element you never invested will have 1/5 of your level as base value (5 at lv20, 8 at lv 40, 20 at lv100, etc).

Glacial Wrath

First Area of Effect Spell, also Unda. Hits many enemies into a small area, and has 60% chance to freeze all of them for 6 seconds. Number of enemies, area and damage are upgrading by increasing skill level.

Ethyr
Ethyrs are items you equip on your skill window, they can be upgraded normally and each of them grant a different spell. You should aim for Pyra and Unda Ethyrs for your character.
When you hit level 15, you can do a quest that will give one of the following 5 Ethyrs:
Quote:
Maze of Myriad
30% chance to reduce target STR by 25 (45 at lv5) for 10 seconds.
Pollenpox
30% to reduce target accuracy by 2 (10 at lv5) for 10 seconds.
Flight of Sea Dragon (Recommended)
30% to reduce target HP by 1% (5% at lv5) for 10 seconds.
Essence of the Flame (Recommended)
30% to reduce target Resilience/Evasion by 2 (10 at lv5) for 10 seconds.
Aur Tide
30% to reduce target Defense by 5 (25 at lv5) for 10 seconds.
I believe they are all melee range, and they upgrade every 5 character levels (15/20/25/30/35), as you learn a new one at lv30-35.
if you click on "Ethyr List" at Skill Window, you will see tons of different spells you can learn by completing quests.
