you might have read people talking about occs, but you don’t know what they are. they’re occupation reduction quests, and doing them regularly will ensure you keep leveling with no problem, even if you feel you’ve run out of other quests.

I’m going to walk you though this really useful quest step by step. first of all, there are a few facts you should know about occs.

1. each occ starts at a global agent. there is one in pokari, one in gallio, and one in dizzet. for the introduction, I am going to detail only the pokari portion. I will add the location information of the other two later.

2. each occ has four parts. one, you begin the quest at the global agent. the global agent in pokari is in the area where you’ll find wehn, only before you get to his platform area, to the right, and under a tree.

3. the second portion is the starting of rumors about the dominating alliance. in pokari, you will be sent to the hydraulic engineer to do this. he can be found on top of a ramp, between the ebucks broker and the master of coalescence.

4. the third part, in pokari’s occ quest, is to speak with wu cheng ‘en (I may have spelled it incorrectly). this guy is a bit of a pain, because he walks alllll around pokari, right outside of town. the circle marked is where the autoroute will take you, but because he walks a large circle, it can take him a while to get back there to you. the easiest thing to do is circle town yourself. just make sure that you travel CLOCKWISE, as wu travels COUNTER CLOCKWISE, so you won’t be chasing after him. just roam around until you see the yellow dot indicating where wu is up ahead of you.

5. the fourth part is killing. you must locate mobs of your own level, which is indicated by the color over the mob name – if it is white, it’s your level and will count towards your kills. kill ten of them, and without having to turn the quest back in, you will automatically receive your event tokens (which disappear, to leave experience points in their place)

6. the global agents who distribute occupational quests are ONLY available on realm 8. please note that this is a pk realm, and, once you are level 45 or above, people can and will pk you. however, there’s good news for those of you that don’t care to have our questing interrupted by high levels looking for easy infamy by killing you: ONLY the first part needs to be done in r8. the rest of it – hydraulic engineer, wu, and kills – can be done on a pve realm.

7. the global agents are there at all times. you can also repeat these quests over and over again. however, there is a limit to how many times a day you can do them. 3 times a day per region. if you go to the global agent to repeat your occs and the scroll over her head is white (rather than the blue shown in the pic), then you have reached your max. come back tomorrow! at upper 80 levels, I was getting a level a day just on a total of 6 a day and usually only a single event to supplement it. these are VERY useful quests, and you should use them often!

update: gallio locations

to get to gallio, take the transporter first to elephunc, and then from there you can make it to gallio. once you arrive to gallio, locate a long ramp shaped thing on your mini map. if you click to the squared off tip of that, you’ll arrive right at the agents!

once you pick it up, it’s just like the one in pokari, just different locales and npcs to chat with. first is lil’ quac. she’s very easy to find, as she stands right across from the transporter that you came in on!

the third part is a little tougher, as if you autoroute, you’ll likely get stuck in a mountain. please remember that leaving safe zone in realm 8 leaves you open for pkers once you are past lvl 45, and in gallio the dragon lord dude is a very popular spot for pkers to lie in wait for you – to so you might want to change realms for this last part!!

when traveling to him, I usually click on the bridge directly across from the area you picked up your quest (shown as a blueish rectangle) and then, once there, autoroute to the landgod. there are hard hitting, aggroing mobs close behind the dragon lord, so please be cautious when landing at this npc
