I’ve seen many many many many questions on "where do i go to get ____" "how to farm ______" and noticed i was getting alot of copy+pasting answers.

So, i decided to make a quick guide.
These are for vocations that require any sort of gathering or gathering tools:

Skinning/Hunting
Foraging
Mining
Woodcutting

Skinning fits with Arcanecraft. Arcanecraft requires the materials provided by Skinning to create armor/weapons for the Mystic/Conjurer classes (aka light armor). You use Knives to skin, bought from Bolo.

Foraging fits with Cooking, Herbalism, and Petcraft. All 3 of those vocations require the materials provided by Foraging to create, in order, HP potions / Certain buffs, Mana potions / Certain buffs, and Pet food. You use Scythes to gather.

Mining fits with Guardiancraft and Petcraft. The materials gathered by Mining provide the materials to make Heavy armor for Dragoon/Shaman classes, or in petcraft’s case, to make pet bells. You use Pickaxes to gather.

Woodcutting fits with Scoutcraft. See Arcanecraft. You use Axes to gather.

Refer to your in-game guide as to HOW TO GAIN THESE VOCATIONS, as i will not explain how to do such here.

Here’s the EXP required for each level:
Lv 1: You start with this.
Lv 2: 150
Lv 3: 2750
Lv 4: 14750
Lv 5: 57750
Lv 6: 188750
Lv 7: 567750

These are static and will never change for the vocation you have.

Amount of EXP gained by gathering the following:

Shards

Ah yes, the amazingly annoying materials required to craft glowy green pretty gears that you cannot live without.

Arcanecraft uses Arcanist’s Shards,
Scoutcraft uses Scout’s Shards,
Guardiancraft uses Guardian Shards.
Rather straightforward.

Arcanist’s Shards require Skinning to gather.
Scout’s Shards require Woodcutting to gather.
Guardian Shards require Mining.

Here’s how to get them:

In instances. There are these piles of armor that have "_______ Shard" over them, replace _____ with your requisite wish.

You’ll need the required gathering tool to farm the piles of armor (Knives for skinning, axes for wood, etc etc).

You will break the tool 100% of the time, but will recieve 5 or 10 shards. Not 1, not 6, either 5 or 10.

Shards level 1 will be found in Crypt of Hunters instance, usually BEHIND the bosses, making them very difficult to get to (But i wish the best of luck to you.)
