Hello fellow ESo’ers ^^ I haven’t found a guide about PvP with a conjurer yet, so I made one ^^ Hope it helps =]

Okay so PvP is a big problem for conjurers. Although we have high attacks, we die easily, so what is really important is CHOOSE YOUR SPELLS.

This starts with the DoB (Date of Birth).

Date Of Birth

There are two DoB’s that fit very well for PvP (Note: REALLY FOR PVP. Against mobs, these attacks won’t do very well, except bosses/elites)

Option 1: Shenzu 1/10

This DoB will unlock the following spells:

Lv10 skill : Stun; high vigor cost but good fast instant cast
Lv30 skill : Stun PROTECTOR; so you’ll never get stunned while stunning them
Lv50 skill : Heal skill!; be more effective in squads, heal Widu x 1 every 2 sec over 31 or so seconds

And yes, these spells are a lot of stunning or not to be stunned, which is VERY useful in PvP, because we die so easily, we need stun spells to not be attacked at all for a few seconds. Also, ofcourse, heal, which speaks for itself.

So in PvP, do the following,

use the lvl 10 stun, then the 30, and then the lvl 40. Then, repeat this. This will require some planning due to the loss of VIGOR, but the lvl 30 and 40 have fast cooldowns.

Steps

Phoenix Flare
Retribution(Stun)
Kylai’s Kiss
and repeat, but skip retribution this time.

Option 2: Shenzu 5/04

This DoB will unlock the following:

Retribution
Steadfast
Endurance

The first two are the same as with 1/10, but Endurance is different. Endurance heals 2% of max HP every second for 10 secs.
So that means, this would be a better choice if you do not have WIDU in your build.

PvP Builds

Next to the standard Pyra/Unda build, there is another option, which also fits PvP

Widu/pyra/unda build, for the dodge/def and such.
Widu/Pyra/Unda build is simple:
Keep Pyra 2x as much as Unda
Widu should be 1 every 5 lvls, +1 if you’d like.

PvP Pets

(needs some extension, but there is already a guide on pets for this)
Best option is a high rank pet which has +EVA or +INT especially high. (4/4.5+ Recommended)
(% Stuff is worthless)

Extra

Etheral Embrace and Pheno Barrier are 2 good def skills for PvP. One uses MP as a subsitute for HP while the other reduces Phys dmg by 30%. Both very good effects, but too bad they only last so short.

Now, if you really want dodge and are willing to sacrifice some HP, try switching unda with widu, making UNDA 1 less then WIDU instead of vice versa.

Extra Add by Villette – Ancestral Ruins, post nr 7, especially for 90+
The points that don’t agree with my guide, but you will have to find out the best option yourself :

*For birthday aka extra goodies, I’d recommend anything with stun nascent skills like Retribution (3 second stun) and Unda Rush (lv 80 skill, +20% to unda spell DMG). 7/24 has it, and works well for me.

*Generally, during pvp whether it’s in a duel, alliance war, 6v6… self heals are pretty suicidal-as this will allow delay enough for your opponent/enemies to disable you and inflict more damage than you just healed. IMO self heals are only good for emergency healing PVE. The vigor could be better used for other skills, such as retribution, unda rush, glacial wrath (highly useful!!), other disabling nascent skills against other players.

*As far as build.. I’ve tried pyra/widu/unda before and this seems to be only useful in PVE. After switching to pure Unda/Pyra, I find that inflicting most dmg to the other player allows me to have greater survivability. The resilience and resistance gained from Widu is not worth the sacrifice I gave up from either the pyra or unda pool, as our skill dmg is heavily reliant on affinity points. This is just my POV though.

DUFF NOTE: *Keep in mind that this guide is also usefull in Boss Fights

*Like Crouma, I would not recommend pheno barrier in pvp as very few people rely on melee attacks to kill you and that extra second to cast it can kill you (WILL if you are in a duel). Again, only useful in PVE.

DUFF NOTE: Read my post nr. 6

*Would also not recommend ethereal embrace, as once your mana is depleted, you will be unable to attack and therefore be vulnerable to attacks. I have 11k mana at lv 96. If a fully diplo geared ranger hits me for 10-12k with unda arrow or squall, I can pretty much say goodbye to my mana and any sort of counter-attack. Or what if a rogue happens to hit with their mana depletion debuff? Your mana will be gone in seconds. Your fuse will UNFUSE once you run out of mana. Again, waste of time to cast, and costs an ethyr skill slot which can be better used for other skills. -I have not fought a single conjurer who has used this skill regularly in pvp.

*About PVP pets. You’ve probably heard this plenty of times, but accuracy, resilience + the affinity which your main dmg skills are based off of, in a conjurer’s case, unda. Pyra can be a possibility after lvl 98 or 101 once we get the large pyra affinity buffs. But for under lv 98 pvp, go for Unda affinity, accuracy and resilience. – Accuracy is important. You can have a great combo or strategy planned out, but if you miss, it will all be for nothing. :x
