~Attributes~
Attack: Increases INT (150 at 50 points invested)
Defense: Increases Def (150 at 50 points invested)
Endurance: Increases HP (1,000 HP at 50 points invested)
Power: Increases Critcast, Critstrike, Critcast Damage, and Critstrike damage (Not sure yet)
~Affinites~
ALL DRAGOONS SHOULD GO ERDA! The second option is usually based upon PvP or what
you plan on tanking in PvE
- PvE (Player vs. Environment [Enemy])
- Popular PvE Builds Include:
- Erda/Pyra (for tanking Oora bosses [mostly End Game])
- Erda/Unda (tanking D7 [Infernal Grotto)
- Erda/Oora (for tanking D8 [Bantangle Hill] )
- PvP (Player vs. Player)
- Erda/Widu (Useful against other Dragoons and Erda users)
- Erda/Pyra (Useful against Rogues, Mystics, and Unda Rangers)
- Erda/Oora (Useful against Widu/Unda Rangers, Shamans and Mystics)
- Erda/Unda (Not suggested since most players in PvP are anti-Unda build but the Erda makes you strong to Mystics and Unda Rangers)
~Skills for Dragoon~
1. Active Damage Skills
- Banewind Gust: Only physical skill in the game and is not recommended in maxing as soon as possible

~Class Skills~ - Ghostwhisper: Pulls agro on a single target towards the caster (which is you)
- Slaughter Wave: Debuffs any positive effects on opponent/enemy and disables their recast of buffs for 10 secs at max
Other
- Sprint: A small glide skill useful for messing around and quick escapes from PvP/PvE (Recommended: Maxbecause it costs no spirit to upgrade)
- Nature Essence: Increases pet’s HP depending upon level of this passive skill and the pet’s level (Recommended: Level accordingly to spirit)
~Subclasses~
Vanguard:
This class is meant to be a DD (Damage Dealing) Dragoon with two 1 second cast skills and an Aura buff.
Small joke: Damage Dealing Dragoon (DDD) lol
-
- God of Duel: 30 Minute Buff that can only be used when not in Combat. Boosts INT and CCD but decreases Defense
- Suicide Assault:1 Second Cast time and 3 Second Cooldown time long ranged skill. It zaps essence (if Evil Buster debuff is on enemy) depending on lvl and also deals extra damage with the passive buff.
- Evil Buster: Vanguard’s 2nd AoE. It is a 360 AoE and 1 sec cast time. It also decreases movement speed of the enemies it hits.
Guardian
This subclass is the true tanks of ESO.
They come equipped with a minor single target taunt skill that also
reduces the amount of damage you get hit for, and an AoE taunt.
They have a 30 minute buff that increases Defense and Resistance but reduces INT.
-
- Mountain Fortitude:Increases Defense/Resistance for 30 minutes but also Decreases Intellect
- Smell of Slaughter:AoE taunt. It draws any mobs near the caster towards them stealing agro off of other players
- Wave Lunge:Single target skill that reduces damage taken by mobs/enemies as well as dealing damage and keeping agro in PvE.
~Pets for Dragoons~
Pets are an important aspect to every player and very crucial for dragoons since they become end game tanks in most cases.
Combat Pets
These tend to be the best DD pets (Damage dealing) because of their high INT growth and the bells (excluding fierce/fearless pets) that boost their INT dramatically near end game.

Fierce
These happen to be the best fuse pets in the game and usually start with high HP growth as well as equippable bells to boost their HP dramatically near end game.

Examples:
Fierce/Fearless (Attribute here) Fiesty Whelp (With 102 HP Growth it has one of the highest HP growths in the game (currently) which makes it an ideal fuse pet)
~Ideal Dragoon Fuse Pet~
The Ideal Dragoon fuse pet would have any elemental attribute (doesn’t matter) with maxed out HP growth from melding (preferably 100+ HP growth).
The fuse stats on it should be usually 3 fuse stats… Here are the most popular and searched for fusion stats. Numbered from most wanted to least wanted but all of them are good.
- Erda/Accuracy/Resilence
- Erda/Accuracy/Resilence/Int%
- Erda/Accuracy/Defense%
- Erda/Accuracy/Resistance
- Erda/Accuracy
~Equipment~
Equipment is an important aspect in the game and is also very hard.. or very easy to imbue depending on your luck…
(Recommendation: Defense set for quests and training and HP set for Dungeons, Bosses, and PvP)
Socketing
Socketing adds sockets to your gears and weapons by the use of the Blacksmith in any safe zone town with a
transporter in it and a Hand Drill….
It is recommended for gears you plan on using for a long time to put them at a MINIMUM of 6 sockets.
Failing without using the AUXILARY ITEM (Lightbender!) will result in destroyed gear!
Imbueing
Imbueing is an important aspect to the game especially near end game.
My recommendation for all newcomer Dragoons since income is hard for the melee classes until higher levels is to save all your gold only imbueing the neccessities. (Level 30-60 Defense Astral at +4 imbue).
At level 75 you get a free set of Armor and a Weapon known as Destiny when you do the Subclass quests.
After that good luck… If you plan on being a good tank at higher levels.. +6 imbue is recommended for the
sufficient HP.
Rings
A lot of speculation has gone around about the rings a Dragoon should use… My personal opinion which can
or can not be backed by other Dragoons is as follows:
Guardian: Resistance/INT/CCD [Critcast Damage] Rings (depending on situation)
Vanguard: INT/CCD [Critcast Damage] Rings
Dragoon: CCD [Critcast Damage]/INT/CCR [Critcast Rate] Rings
Money Making
The game revolves around the money you have as all MMORPGs do and melee classes are the hardest..
If your looking for some quick gold for that item you need next level, etc, then I suggest checking out this
guide. http://eso-forum.perfectworld.com/sh…d.php?t=203321
