Section 1: How to sell like a pro
It is commonplace to walk into the trade channel and find shop titles like,
“@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@”,
“______________WELCOME______________”
And,
“I sell stuff”
The first two are pointless, because while many people believe that they are impossible not to click on; realistically they are generally filtered out and therefore pointless.
The later, is also equally as pointless, but slightly less annoying in that it is more descriptive.
Support016 so kindly described the “/filter” system and, almost all high-level traders and noobs alike use it; Based on this assumption treat your store title like meta-data. Rather than typing out for example,
“Wts Shadow Titanium armor +0 slotted with adept Bluestin boots!!!1”
Condense the title to -
“ST St +0 Slotted SLOTTED ADEPT Adept Bluestin”
While this title if read looks more like a jumble of words than an inviting message consider this. When creating a shop title the general guidelines are:
-
Include two different spellings of the abbreviation of your main item for sale Ex: “OSM Osm” -
Include a secondary general terms of interest that are in your shop Ex: “Adept EOD Map” -
When creating your shop title, exclude all extraneous formatting this includes, commas and special characters such as: @$&%!~_,. All that you want to include are words and spaces nothing else to maximize your character limit. -
Finally, use commonly abbreviated terms, and do not use caps for emphasis ex: RaNdOm. We have colors for emphasis. -
In conclusion to circumvent wasting your time do not use the shop title “@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@”
Section 2: Effective filtering
The “/filter” command is by far your best shopping tool, even better than having a widescreen monitor. The filter has a few special ways that it operates:
-
It cannot distinguish between two otherwise identical words of different cases ex: ST and st.
-
It will however pick out key words from a string for example to avoid other people’s shotty spelling type “Blue” instead of “Bluestin”.
- You may list as may filter elements as you like, it will look for a shop title with at least one of the elements listed for example: “/filter adept st osm slotted bluestin ST ADEPT.”
-
When filtering as previously suggested always type multiple variations of a search term, such as “/filter OSM Osm osm” to maximize the number of results that you obtain.
-
Yes, you can use “/filter “to filter out everything.
Happy shopping, and if I missed anything in this guide post it here.
