Omg I can’t believe I’m doing this again.  I accidentally pressed back while doing research for this guide and lost 1/2 of this whole guide I wrote, huge fail +face palm right there…lost 4-5 hours of my life there…(good thing I can try to memorize what I wrote now though….sigh). Anyways enough of my rant, this guide was written because I was bored and i’m currently on a break from gaming. I missed cabal so I thought I’d check around the forums and then I noticed there were no guides for newbies there! As I like helping people and wasting time I thought I would take a gander at it. I am by no means a pro and you do not have to take these info to heart ( though facts are facts). There may be inconsistencies so feed backs are more then appreciated. I will also provide urls for sites that I found helpful, meaning these are not written by me (remember to thank the authors if you found them helpful). Before you begin to read this guide I suggest you do three things, check here http://cabal.ogplanet.com/guide.og?op=install first (it was made for a reason…it also has pictures), the other thing is to check the index and find what your looking for because this is a huge wall of textpuke…it’s for your own good, and the last if your a beginner please at least look at the bolded information in the wall of text.

Best regards (good gaming!)-Neutual

1-The Game: The first question that probably popped up is,"is this the game for me?" Before you take advice from me or any other strangers please try it out first! It’s free to play so what can you lose? That said, this game is highly based on fast paced action and game play with a few exceptions. Here are a few things I look for in a game (check interaction to learn how to block):

Controls- This is a standard point and click but it also has wasd (but seriously point and click ftw) Also… Hotkeys are as follows (esc)=Menu (T)=Quest info (I)=Inventory (K)=Skill info (C)=character info and crafting (ctrl)+numbers=show off skills (shift)+numbers=activate pk mode on clicked player. Number keys for show off and pk is only assuming you got skills in the numbers and im assuming you don’t use F# keys as hotbar. Sorry I tried to add a picture but after trials and errors I have realized imageshack or I have failed too much.

Map- The maps have a set X and Y which means that all the maps universally have the same size. The paths are different but the size is a bit small (my opinion) of course it is not like very small it would take about 5-7 min to walk across a map ( or like 1-2min with dash). The pro of this is that you can get from one point to the desired location faster meaning you will not wast a lot of time getting from point A to point B. Also to counter balance this for those who likes to explore Cabal offers a wide variety of maps including but not limited to Bloody Ice(BI), Green Despair(GD), Desert Scream(DS), Port Lux(PL), Fort Ruina(FR), Undead Grounds(UG), Ancient Ruins, Lakeside(Ls), Mutant Forest(MF), and Pontus ferrum. http://cabal.mmosite.com/npcs/npc1.shtml (a little outdated)

Dungeons- Dear Jesus…dungeons are because it’s static and same throughout until you reach lvl 75 (after first few levels leveling gets easier) then the dungeons get because when that transition happens you’ll be wow’d. After lvl 75 there are more of these dungeons once again including but not limited to Lake in Dusk (LiD), Ruina Station (RS), Frozen tower of undead (EoD), Volcanic citadel (VC or SoD), Frozen tower B2F, Forgotten Temple, Forgotten temple B2F, and coming sometimes forgotten islands. If you need help google the dungeons prior to entering.

Equips- Sadly cabal lacks in this area but to try and counter balance this issue cabal has made it so you can equip any item,  implied slotted, and implied "epic" items (which will be later discussed). Some classes are dependent on good gears while others do not require it but it will be optimal to do so. To equip an item all you have to do is meet it’s requirement, though some requirement may be being lvl 99(Topaz/Redosmium/Teragrace/Mystic/Shineguard) or 115(Forcium), the armor can also be class specific (Shadow Titanium/Redosmium/Teragrace/Mystic/Shineguard/Forcium). For a complete list go to http://www.cabalwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page.

Class- I read a question asking if males get different stats from female char the answer is no and it should be the same for almost every game (excluding the female character to have a 5-10% higher chance of getting free alz and help from other players  j/k…kinda). There are 6 classes in all Force Archer(FA), Force Bladers(FB), Force Shielders(FS), Bladers(BL), Warriors(WA), and Wizards(WI). There are no "best" class but some class are specific in their role however, any class can do what they want if they build their class for it with some exceptions such as warriors will never be a good magic caster or buffer. Just simple adjustments such as pve>pvp/pk and vice-versa pvp/pk>pve. Supporters can be attackers but attackers cannot be supporters and when I say supporters i mean force archer. If your confused the best thing you can do is check the class section of ogplanet’s or Cabal EU’s forum http://forum.cabalonline.com/. Another thing you can do is check videos on youtube but watch out for bias (such as high level attacking low levels).

Interaction- Cabal online supports interactions in many ways such as gestures, dances, and a great system for guilds and parties. Events are plenty and now with "the watch" system bots and chat spammers can be reduced exponentially. Press B to bring out the buddy list and scroll through tabs. You should see block and guild, to block simply click on the character you want to block and click block (if you do not see the character you have to type in the name yourself).
Also click on the speech bubble on the chat box to bring out filter options. Click on the square button (that said N) next to where you type your chat to change the chat type. To make the chat box a permeable black (for easier reading) click on the tack located at the top right corner of the chat box. Only complaint is the censorship of the word "les" because it’s a word thats used often bless, unless/less, battles, etc (you think it’s 3 letters that don’t get used alot but you’ll see). Plus les is not much of an insult and those who reads les prior to the knowledge of lesXXXX would have no idea what it’s suppose to mean. Anyhow, who uses les as an insult? seriously. It would only prove how ignorant that person is. Ok sorry that will be the last game related rant.
Very Important- http://www.cabalonline.com/gameinfo/community_1.asp on the left hand side you will see a bar said community and then under it you will see info that you will need…read it…learn it…live it.

Sounds- The music from this game is great! personally I like it but if you get bored theres always the jukebox http://newforum.ogplanet.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=12334

PVE- Dungeons, quests, chaos arena, variety of monsters, bosses randomly appearing (in specific maps such as ancient ruins), and events. Chaos arena happens every 4hours (check http://cabal.ogplanet.com/main.og for times) and it is a great big monster bash youtube it.
What more can you ask? The monsters are great because there are many varieties all looking cool and I don’t see (or notice) animations being reused on the different monsters many times. Check these sites for more maps and monsters (pictures!) http://www.cabalwiki.com/wiki/Category:Bestiary , and http://cabal.mmosite.com/mon/mon_1.shtml.

PVP- Highly supported all channels 7+ are pk enabled (hold shift and use a skill to enable pk mode on that player). If you initiate the pk and successfully kill the player you gain an orange name the colour gets darker until it gets dark red for each kill you make. After your name turns orange any attack and kills will subtract honour points as a penalty and some functions won’t work such as npc and warps. All maps Ancient Ruins and over are pk based and any player you meet that are not in the same confederation as you can be killed and you will gain honour point (though it will be a meager amount). You can tell friend or foe in such maps or war server by looking at their names if it is red and is comprised of numbers chances are it is an enemy. War channel is just a channel with all the same maps but every zone is a pk zone (teams are seperated by confederation again). Be aware even towns and outposts are pk zones so you can die respawn and get pked again and you can get camped. Also there is the nation war that happens every 4 hours (you will be notified of it’s happenings in the game).

Currency-Alz

Skills-Very flashy nuff said.

Miscellaneous- There are such things as pets and items to change your looks (facial, hair, and costume) but all these can only be bought through cash shops (real money) or from other players who bought it via cash shops. Pets gives small attribute boosts and they can help you attack monsters. A list of Costumes can be seen here http://www.cabalwiki.com/wiki/Costume_Epaulettes. Also there is an auction house located in Bloody Ice to sell or buy equipts Important- Potions have low cool downs (especially mp pots) so it is ok and encouraged to spam potions for health. Drag a Hp pot (the red ones) from your inventory (I) and drop it onto the hotkey bar http://cabal.ogplanet.com/guide.og?op=interface (#7) and use often. Mp pots (blue ones) are instant so it gets used once you do not have enough mp to cast the next skill you want to use so you do not have to put it on the hotkey bar. Also important- Now for example say the  skills you put in the bar is 1=Critical Shot(20) 2=Shadow Shot(20) 3=Terra Lance(20) 4=Fire Lance(20) 5=Shooting Star(12), now say you got a target with a fairly high hp (or defence). When you are standing still and you press 1 then 2 it will fire Crit Shot then fire Shadow Shot but whats more without pressing anything it will instantly shoot Terra Lance then Fire Lance. Then it will cycle back to Crit Shot and Shadow Shot however, your fire or terra lance is not done cooling down yet so it will instantly fire Shooting Star (your 5th skill) then cycle back to the original cycle (Crit Shot>Shadow Shot>Terra>Fire). This concept also works for comboing, just keep pressing the same key you used to activate combo and it will cycle through. If you do not want this to happen go to options(esc) and put off auto attack. If you run out of skills on the hotkey or you click on a skill that is cooling down you will run up to the monster and hit it with a regular attack.

2-Beginning- You have created a character and you start off. Each class starts off in a specific spot (it’s probably done this way for familiarization, to get maps populated, and because the armor npc in those areas sells your specific armor/weapon) :

Warrior and Force Shielders – Bloody Ice
Force Archer and Force Bladers – Green Despair
Wizards and Bladers – Desert scream

Do not worry you will be able to explore the other maps very soon. The quests they give for beginners are made for familiarization so please read thoroughly, they should describe everything you need to know except for a few exceptions which will be later discussed. Important-One exception being that you should never use normal attack (just a plain strike) but always use skills simultaneously  (eg. for a FA use Freezing Arrow>Fire arrow>Repeat or for WA use Flashdraw>Powerstab>repeat)That being siad it is best to party up with fellow beginners when starting off (and throughout too). Always collect the drops and alz from monster (press the space bar) to sell or use because you will notice that armor and weapons that drops from monster has a chance of being +1-4 (3?) and some has slots (which also increases stats like an upgrade). A + weapon has a higher requirment and stats then it’s + less counterpart. The alz you get from drops should be used for skills, upgrades, and potions.

3.1-Skills and Upgrades (leveling)- Omg here we go I remember this being a large wall of text anyways here we go… Cabal follows a unique system in which the base level of the character is different from the skill rank and level of a character. What does this mean? This means that a player (who has the same level) can be stronger then you because he has a stronger skill set and higher stat. To see the various ranks and requirement check here http://cabal.ogplanet.com/guide.og?op=skill. BSLV means battle style level which we will talk about later. To rank up say from a Novice>Apprentice you must fully lvl the first rank (in this case novice rank). To check your level press K ingame and a list should come out along with tabs (sword, magic, upgrade, and social), click on your dominant tab (Eg.warriors=sword FA=magic) and you will notice many things. Your level requirement, BSLV requirement, your current rank, a bar, a fraction (eg. 1/15, 5/15, 10/30, etc {all fractions from now on will be made up for my conviniences}), a number (or 0) and slots. Your skill level is the numerator in the fraction so in the above fractions (the examples) your level would be 1,5 and 10 respectively. You will gain one level for every time the bar fills up (completly blue) and then some. When you level up you will gain one skill point, skill points are used to upgrade the skill just click on the plus sign on the right side of the skill in the slots. All skills will take 1 skill point to level up  until you reach that skill reaches 12 you will need +3 points, at level 15 you will need 5 per level, and finally you will need 10 points per level  to reach lvl 18-20. If you cannot upgrade a skill and you got the needed skill points check the skill description if it says for eg Novice 3 and you are Novice 2 then you need to skill lvl one more time. Finally when you see a number like Add.Attack +42.80 (+2.50 per level) it is as it says, when you level up a skill from say lvl 1-2 you will get +2.50 so 42.80 will be Add.Attack +45.30.

3.2-Skills and Upgrades (degrading and getting rid of skills)- Important-Do not worry you can never make a detrimental mistake because you can always revert your skill level back or you can get rid of it completly. Say you have impact stab lvl 20 (like what?bbq?!) first press k and search for impact stab. You should notice the on the right side of the image of impact stab (to the right of where the plus sign was) you will notice a – sign, click on it and a message will appear listing the price and the number of points you get back(you should get back 10 for the first two degrades), click ok. To get rid of the skill (warning you will have to rebuy the skill from the instructor) simply click the minus button until it asks you if you want to get rid of the skill (from skill lvl 1 to 0). Tip: Only upgrade skills your gonna keep forever to level 20

3.3-Skills and Upgrades (ranking up)- When your numerator is the same as the denominator (eg. 15/15, 30/30) you rank up, a whole new denominator will show up, and your numerator will go back to 0. Ranking up is when you go from Novice>Apprentice>Regular>etc. Ranking up is a must because it unlocks new skills you can buy and also you get stat bonuses. That means when you rank up in sword (Novice>Apprentice) you gain base points in strength and Dex inversely when you rank up in magic you gain Int and Dex (also i think you get a little health bonus too). What does this mean? It means you must rank up your dominant skills (WA being sword) and your non dominant skills (Magic). Ranking up your non-dominant skill will give you extra Int and Dex which you can use for wearing your next armor, meeting battle style requirements, and if you want you can relocate those stat points into strength with extract pots.

3.4-Skills and Upgrades (Buying)- Like I think I typed before you buy skills at instructors. However, sometimes skills names are red in which case you cannot buy it. The reason for this is:
A:You do not have the required rank
B:You do not have the alz
C:You do not meet the skill lvl, for eg. in the description it says novice 4/15 and you are 3/15 you must gain one more level before getting that skill (of course you need the alz too!)

3.5-Skills and Upgrades (Skills)- Congratulations on getting this far in this hideous databank of infomation, cause honestly I feel kinda dead in the head atm unless of course your a dirty cheater and you just skipped sections ( just kiddin i made a index for a reason). First off you buy skills at the instructor, you should know where the instructor is and what it does because you did the beginning quests…right? Anyways if you have forgotten check your gps (M or Tab) http://cabal.ogplanet.com/info.og?op=gps . When you ask what skills you should get I will reiterate do not worry! Skills at low level are easy and cheap to degrade and delete. Ok it’s freakin go time, when you look at the skills you will notice some of these things in the description a description of the skill, Magic/Attack Amp,Add Attack, Status Effect, Range, Limit, Mp Use, Cool Down, and Casting Time.

Skill Amp- You will notice every skill has a skill amp except for normal attack (which is why it’s not loved and also not to be used). The skill amp takes your base damage so  magic amp will increase m.attack and sword amp will increase attack. Check C to see how much damage a skill would do with your stats, simply click on a skill on the hotkey or in skill list and next to your m.attack or attack you should see a number in brackets, that is the calculated damage it should do (this is not always the case as we will later discuss).  So if your base attack is 100 (base meaning the number you see when you press C) and you have Force Stab (Attack Amp x1.10 Add.Attack +42.80) that is 100 x 1.10 + 42.80=152.8Dmg (152 all damage calculation rounds down) so when you press (C) and look at your attack (with force stab clicked) it should look like this: Attack: 100 (152), 152 Dmg is the calculated result however, this is not true for some cases (more as you vrs stronger monsters/players) we will divulge into this fact later on. Now we can increase our attack by having equipts that increases skill amp (there are no caps for amp that I know of). So say you have a +7% Sword Skill Amp in the slot (old gear you’ll see why later on) your gloves give 4%Sword Skill Amp and finally your boots give you 5% Magic Skill Amp, how much amp + is that? For those who answered 16% I @ U because you sir have gotten yourself tricked. Because the 5% in the boots are Magic Skill Amp it does not increase sword skill amps at all, morale of the story? Dun waste your money on amps you don’t need. Any ways back to topic you have 7% + 4% thats 11% so using the same Force Stab and stats you get 100(1.10+0.11)+42.80 =163.8Dmg (163) which is obviously more then 152.

Add Attack- As you saw in my skill amp calculations all it does is add damage after the amps have been multiplied with your base attack/ m.attack. Unlike Skill Amp it usually increases as you level

Status Effect- You might see such things as Def Down, Def Rate Down, Attack Down, Attack Rate Down, Crit Rate Up, Crit Dmg Up,  Hp Down, and more commonly Knockdown, Down, and Stun. Of course there are Forceblader debuffs that has status effect of unmovable, Level Down, and the oh so dreaded mana freeze. A skill that pretty much makes it so you can’t use any skills (unless you have over 1400mp which ain’t gonna usually happen unless your a wizard) and when combined with execration (which makes you unnmovable) you go from. All the names are self explanatory except knockdown, knockdown is the same as down except you fall back (from the point of impact) 1-1.5cm before you go down.

Range- (a range can also be used to describe a stove i wonder why?)"In descriptive statistics, the range is the length of the smallest interval which contains all the data. It is calculated by subtracting the smallest observation (sample minimum) from the greatest (sample maximum) and provides an indication of statistical dispersion. But more commonly in mathematics, the range of a function is the set of all "output" values produced by that function. Sometimes it is called the image, or more precisely, the image of the domain of the function. If a function is a surjection then its range is equal to its codomain. In a representation of a function in an xy Cartesian coordinate system, the range is represented on the ordinate (on the y axis)". As quoted from wikipedia. Philosophically speaking however one must realize that range in distance is a number set by humans for humans. The question being do we move as our legs move or does the world move us? Infact do we move at all? Maybe it is like a dream because you cannot say you moved or saw beyond a set numerical distance in a fictual world dreamt up by you because of the neurotransmitter that runs around during REM sleeping. Range how ever as accepted  by the community is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distance. lol ok but seriously range is just the distance of the skill pretty self explanatory. People wonder how to buff other players, if your buff has a range or a limit you can buff other players with that buff otherwise 0 range= works only on yourself. If your skill has a range of 4-8 for example that means you must be 4 distance infront of the victim otherwise you will be penalized (your cooldown will get longer).

Limit- The limit indicates AoE meaning higher the limit the bigger the area of dammage. So say you have a limit of 1 and monsters are xs then when the monster line up like so… xxx the monster you target is the monster you hit so say you aim for the right monster then xxx (where the bolded x is the monster that got damaged). Now lets say you have a limit of 2 and you aim for the monster on the right then you hit xxx and any monster directly infront or behind it. The smarter move however, would be to attack the middle monster then xxx and any monster directly behind or infront gets damaged.  Sometimes the Limit will have a special property like Piercing, then you will hit the first monster and any monster directly behind or infront of the shot (so a straight line perpindicular to you). Imagine a bullet going through multiple targets, a fires straight so it can only shoot through the targets in it’s path (neglect resistance and reflection). You can target any monster (the one in front back or middle) and all of them will be shot (if there in a straight line ofcourse), but it is advised to target the last monster because then you will have an easier time lining up your targets. When hitting multiple enemies the damage output will not get smaller with bigger mobs unless you crit or the description tells you otherwise. (Hmm I might be forgetting something because i remember in my lost post I was over the fact that limit had more info then Amp…)

MP Use- ummm…no

Cool Down- Umm…yea…fine…it’s the seconds it takes till you can reuse the skills again (skill will have a light grey colour until cooldown is over inwhich case the skill will be coloured again)…happy? -.-

Cast Time- The time it takes to cast a skill…BUT WAIT IT’S A TRAP! while the cast time is usually accurate some skills takes longer/shorter to cast because of the animations. Test your skills out yourself to find out if they are accurate or not. Here is another great lil gem I stumbled upon http://newforum.ogplanet.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=80190&KW=cast+time remember FA will take only 1.3s to cast Lances not 1.8s with the exception of Lightning Lance which takes 1.5s oh and also FA will take 1.5s to cast Cannons not 2.0s with (once again) the exception of Lightning Cannon which takes 1.8s.

3.6-Skills and Upgrades (Upgrades)- Upgrades are bought the same way skills are bought, through the instructor. You will however have limited slots (you start off with 1,2?) but you end up with 6 overall. You gain slots as you rank up so say your dominant in magic, when you go from a completer>transender you gain 1 slot resulting in 6 from 5. Now lets say in the same day you rank up sword rank from completer>transender, you will still have 6 slots. Upgrade slots are only gained through your dominant skill rank. Now when buying upgrades I advise you to be more frugal or cautious. I say this because to upgrade from a…lets say Reflex 4> Reflex 5 you need all the levels before (Reflex level 1,2,3) which are all bought from the instructor, later on you realise that it costs 1,747,500alz to get lvl 6 then later 2,323,200alz to get lvl 7 (all upgrades of the list costs the same {so all Master skills costs 1,747,500alz, all A.Master skills cost 2,323,200alz, and etc}) You thing wow I need to prioritize my upgrades to the ones  want most (in my case Force Control>Defense Sense>Vitality Mastery), and wait you look and realize something REFLEX IS MADE OF FAIL. So now to get rid of it you spend alot of money (dunno exact amount) so you lose that much plus a little more then 900k (to buy the skills), now imagine if you went to lvl 6 or 7 before you realized how much reflex fails.

3.7-Skills and Upgrades (Conclusion)- Do not worry about the skills you get until you find ones your gonna keep or when your higher in level (around 60-70 I think well for me it was when I hit master rank but I think I might have been slow). Why worry about your skills when your high you wonder, shouldn’t you just get the skills with the highest attack+ and upgrade it to +20? Well no that is not always the case, now time for a story! To skip the story for pure calculation (and easier read) skip the story .
——————————————————————————————————————-
Say there was a lvl 10 Force Archer with base  M.Attack of 75 and you use Freezing arrow because your 1337 like that. Now Freezing Arrow(14) has a stat of Magic Amp x 1.20 and Add Att 47.40 (+1.70 per Lv) and , so with your base attack of 75 we get 75 x 1.20+71.2=161.2Dmg (161). He scoffs at Terra Arrow with a mear Magic Amp x 1.40 and Add.Attack +35.70(+0.80 per lvl) ( low attack and only +0.80 per lvl?!), but him being critical as he is he, he does the calculation anyways 75 x 1.40+(35.70+0.80 x 14)=151.9Dmg(151) Now lets say further in the near future the same Force Archer has 200 attack and still uses Freezing Arrow (14) because he is made of win. A fellow Force Archer challenges him to a duel and the challenger wins. You blame lag and your combo messed up, the other Archer seeing through this suggests he switch to Terra Arrow instead of  Freezing Arrow. Now you have a chance to one up on him you at him and say proudly ,"naa dude it does less damage if you did your calculations you would notice!" He tells you to do it again and leaves, you laugh behind your computer because you have proven that not only are you 1337, full of win, but also you are very smart. Apparently he starts noticing his losing every battle so a lil ticked off he remembers that other Force Archer’s suggestion well he tries it. Here was his calculation 161/151=1.06625 so Freezing arrow should do x 1.06625 more damage then Terra Arrow (now he knows Freezing Arrow is gonna do more because he is multiplying by a number higher then 1 but he felt like comparing the calculated results to the games calculation) so he calculates (200-75) x 1.40 + 151.9 x 1.06625=348.5Dmg (348)
200=His current M.Attack
75 and 151.9 was his calculated results from when he was lvl 10
1.06625 is the ratio of Dmg he calculated between the two arrows
1.40 is a constant (Magic Amp)
But wait! according to the ingame calculations he got 311Dmg from Freezing Arrow instead!
Thats a 10.6% mergin of error or a 37 damage difference! He understands that a hefty damage difference since he is a DPS class, he also understands how ignorant he must have seemed when talking to that FA that gave him the advice (/facepalm).
What went wrong? This calculation just wrong… The ratio of damage is not valid at all but the only mergin of error would be 0.86% IF both skills had the same Amp. Morale of the story? As your base dmg increases amp gets more important (and lvl 170 FA can reach over 1000 base m.attack). But as you noticed at low level it does not matter as much.
———————————————————————————————————————
The story is the long way of explaining Amp vrs +Attk Damage so basically here are the calculations: Terra Lance(20) vrs Freezing Lance(20)

Terra Lance(20) 500 x 1.85 + 85.90=1010.9 Dmg(1010)
Freezing Lance(20) 500 x 1.65 + 131.90= 956.9 Dmg(956)

and like all multiplication all numbers will increase drastically as base number increases (unless of course 0 > X = 0)

Recalculation of same skills with 1000 m.attack
1000 x 1.85 + 85.90=1935.9 Dmg (1935)
1000 x 1.65 + 131.90=1781.9 Dmg (1781)
As you can see the difference only gets larger!

The sections below are not covered in the story. (However it is a little redundant and is only put to further clarify amp dmg)

Now divide the two results from both 500 and 1000 m.attack according to Terra/Freezing
1010/956=1.056
1935/1781=1.086
What does these numbers tell us? It tells us that Terra lance will always have a higher damage value then Freezing Lance no matter how high the number gets. If the second result (which is always the higher m.attack {being the 1000 m.attack values in this case}) is lower then the first (for eg. 1.056 and 1.045) it means that the second skill will eventually surpass the damage value of the first. However in this case it is not so because 1.086 – 1.056=0.03 which is a positive value.

We now talk about teh DPS
Now we talk DPS that is how much Damage you do Per Second. To calculate this just take the Dmg (x) we calculated and divide it by the time it takes to cast it. With that in mind lets calculate Terra Lance (20) vrs Stone Cannon (20)

Terra Lance(20) 500 x 1.85 + 85.90=1010.9 Dmg(1010)
Stone Cannon(20) 500 x 1.95 + 128.30= 1103.3 Dmg(1103)

Now before you think hey Stone Cannon does more dmg! Divide it by it’s cast time
Terra Lance(20) 1010/1.3=776.9 Dmg (776)
Stone Cannon(20)1103/1.5=735.3 Dmg (735)

Recalculation of same skills with 1000 m.attack

Terra Lance(20) 1000 x 1.85 + 85.90=1935.9 Dmg (1935)
Stone Cannon(20) 1000 x 1.95 + 128.30= 2078.3 Dmg(2078)
Terra Lance(20) 1935/1.3=1488.4 Dmg (1488)
Stone Cannon(20) 2078/1.5=1385.3 Dmg (1385)

776/735=1.0557
1488/1385=1.0743

Few that was a mouthfull. Lets take a breather now I need breakfast.
I also suggest you take a break play the game or do something else because this is a real killer i know srryz

Ok I had half a pizza and the rest of this Pepsi diet with ginseng (O.o right?)

Ok go time starting from were we left off... Terra lance is a great skill! You think but only in pvp/pk and in higher levels (about 99+) it is advised you have amp gear, crit rate, and crit damage gear. Wait I only said pvp/pk! What about pve? In pve terra lance is a…not so good of a skill… reason being you want to gather mobs and the first flaw is that it has knock back, while knock back is a life saver when your Gravity distortion fails to stun some monsters it can also screw up the mobs position if you use it too much. The second and biggest flaw is the rank penalty, what?bbqh4x?! rank penalty?! Well it’s how I worded it but what it is when you use a low skill rank skill on a high level/defence monster/player your skill does less damage then the calculation shows when you press C (remember I this is what I was talking about inn the amp section!) so for example I cast my beloved Critical shot and lets say I have…800m.attack thats a calculated damage of 1263 Dmg (without crit), and I cast it on an Iron Golem guess how much damage I did! Common guess I did about 11dmg and I crit for 14dmg and those monsters has a lot of hp (or ALOT of defence). However this is like a worst case scenario because Critical shot is an apprentice skill. So for mob battles it would be ideal to have all AoE skills and also stun over DPS however, I am an expirienced FA not any other class once again to see the best skills against mobs or pvp/pk read about the class you want (check the class section of ogplanet’s or Cabal EU’s forum http://forum.cabalonline.com/.).
Last tip every one talks about DPS but is DPS worth it? When the battles you do lasts 9-14 seconds it could be better to use a combination of DPS and high damage skills, it’s all about expirience.

4.1-Leveling- Lets look athe the interface shall we? http://cabal.ogplanet.com/guide.og?op=interface in the picture look at figure #6. That is the blue bar located above the hotkey. When that bar goes fully blue and then some you will lvl up and ofcourse that bar will go blank again. To gain exp just attack monsters, higher damage you do the more exp you get. However, attacking grey named monster will give you a very small amount of exp. Also unlike most mmorpg since this game does not give you exp per kill but rather exp per hit so it is not really advised to go up against monsters with red names. Great exp can be earned from quests so it is advised to do them at all times. Some quests can even give you over 1mil alz.

4.2-Leveling(techniques)- I seperated this from leveling because i know people like you will skip over leveling completly after reading the first few sentences…don’t look at me like that I know you were going to..right? Well anyways here are some ways to gain fast exp. Friends! that is one of the biggest factor in lvling faster. As I said earlier cabal online has a great party system that highly encourages teamwork (but not necesary). The benefits are you gain 40% more exp with 10% more exp per extra person so 50% exp with 2 other players (please post if their is a party/exp cap because I have never been in a party with more then 3 people for leveling 50% exp)  and you gain some exp for the damage your fellow party members do, so if you have 2 solid friends who play around the same time as you get 50% bonus exp and extra exp for being in a party. That right their is better then a premium account or a blessing bead (but if you stack those ontop of party bonus it’s). Also Dungeons, Chaos Arena, and quests are a great source of exp. While quests may seem to give a good (but not great) amount of exp you should notice that some quests require you to kill monsters. So for example the quest tells you to kill 50 Lihorns and if your in a party thats 50Lihorns worth of exp + 50% and then the quest completion exp ontop of that! Of course I still like to stack my quests so if one quest tells me to kill 50 lihorns and another tells me to kill 25, i’m finishing two quests in one move. The last way is for events but that is not regular so it’s not too good to rely on events. Tip: having a really high level partying with you is not a good idea (eg. lvl 114 and a lvl10) because you and your friend will receive next to no exp.

4.3-Leveling(BSLv)- This is a quest to increase your battle style level. When you press C right under Character status you will notice Growth lvl and a list of stats. That is the stat you must have to start the BSLv quest. So say it said Growth lvl 30 STR 29 INT 89 DEX 60 you must have those stats and be level 30 to start on that quest. Doing these quest are of utmost importance because they give buff duration bonus, upgrade %bonus (eg more hp,def,m.attack, etc) , a little bit more hp, special skills, and finally more stat points! Special skill means Your combo, BM1, BM2, ability to use astraboards/bikes and their attacks, and finally ability to stack the samte type of buff ontop of each other.

5-Items- Got an item you need? Well it’s always good to hunt for some item but when your nearing the time for your optimal end game gear then shopping is usually a necessity. The best place to do this is this forum (make sure you pick right channel), the trade server, or the Auction house (located in Bloody Ice). It’s always good to do shopping at the trade channel because many char sells items and goes afk. It is advised to always shop when you are not in a hurry so you can take the time to compare prices. The best place to compare prices is the Auction House but sometimes players sells things cheaper then the auction house. However if you are in an absolute hurry you can filter out specific shop names by typing /filter (type desired item or item abbreviations here).

6.1-Equipts- You know I already posted about equipts but there are many things to talk about!

6.2-Equipts (Epics)-First we need to talk about "Epics" you can only pick these up from rare monster drops or craft them. "Epics" has names next to them like osmium armorhem of deathblow or bluestin battlesuit of Amp. Like the name suggests Amp gives amp bonus to the wearer (which does not take up any  force core slots) here is the list:
Deathblow-can increase crit rate or crit damage
Will- Increases hp (or mp?)
Vamp-Steal %hp (or mp?) per 2 seconds http://newforum.ogplanet.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=43253 <omg vamp makes sense now!
Destruction-Atack (attack rate, min attack+?)
Guard-Def (Def rate?)
Restoration-increase hp regneration rate per 2s (mp too?)
Luck- increase chance of 1slot item drop, 2slot item drop (alz bomb too?)
There are perfect crafts where the item will have max attributes these are quite costy (eg. perfect craft helm of deathbllow will have 8% crit rate up or 16%increase crit damage).Crit rate has a cap it was 52% or sumthing O.o. All players have a base of 5%crit rate too I think.

6.3-Equipts (Slots)- A slotted item is the item you want because it comes with +3 or +6 more attack/ m.attack/def/ (depending on weapon or armor) and more +rate. So that is like have a +1 or +2 upgraded weapon except it’s +0! That means a slotted +X weapon/armor will always be better then a non slotted weapon +X. Now here is link that tells you how to put attributes in the slot!
http://cabal.mmosite.com/content/2008-12-05/20081205010819273.shtml

6.4-Equipts (Upgrades)- Upgrading requires a Upgrade core low, med, high (depening on the item lvl the cores will tell you on their description). Simply right click on a core and left click on an equipt item in your inventory. So far all upgrades gives +3 to attack/m. attack or defence until you reach +6 in which it will give double that of the first upgrade (eg. +6 gives +6 to attack/m. attack or defence, +7 gives +12, +8 gives +24, and finally +9 gives +48) That is universal except for forcium where the +6 starts off with giving you +12, +7 gives +24, etc. However upgrading is not without it’s risks. Going from a +2-+3 can fail without any penalties (meaning it will stay +1 +2 +3) but after 3 you get a lower chance of upgrading to the next level and a penalty of -1 upgrade per failed attempt. To upgrade a +7-+9 you need to use the corse alchemist. Failing a +6-+7 will make your weapon go down back to+0 but failing a +7-+8 or +8-+9 will destroy that item entirely (unless it’s an account bind). If it is an account bind it will destroy your third slot and bring it back to +0 or just bring the lvl back to +0. Please get a pro to check this out as I am not 100% sure about all this

6.5-Equipts (Heavy, Martial, Battle)- Some bladers are seen wearing armor suits and some FAs are seen wearing martial suits what? hax?! They are a product of someone taking their imagination and combining it with the game’s ability to have no armor restriction. Martial Fa usually wear +6-7 osmium martial suit of M.Amp why? Generally i heard martial M.Amp is cheaper but that is not the reason. The reason they argue is that it requires less strength to wear a martial suit then it does to wear a battlesuit so… all the points that would have gone to strength to wear the latest battle suit would instead go to Int so they have a higher M.attack then "normal" Force archers. There are always pro’s and cons which you hafta research yourself. Heavy bladers just wear armor suit for more defence but they sacrifice dex in return (I think).

6.6-Equipts (Conclusion) Simply at a low level it’s nothing to worry agout but as you get near the end you should optimize and customize the gear to your liking. If you need help i suggest again (check the class section of ogplanet’s or Cabal EU’s forum http://forum.cabalonline.com/.).
Tips: FA should use orbs instead of crystal because they have a little bit more magic then crystals (just a little bit mind you).

7-Confederation and Nation Wars- You join a confederation after doing a specific quest which becomes available where your lvl 53. Once you choose you will not be able to change back unless you have black transmuter (which is a cash shop item). http://cabal.ogplanet.com/info.og?op=nw1 and http://www.cabalonline.com/low_features.html should tell you a good deal about nation wars. Some helpful tips are.
-Buff your allies and yourself near the 1min mark at the lobby…(Why? think about it…) I don’t know why almost nobody have thought of this.
-Attacking a guardian first is always recommended
-Only build towers by spending points if it is helpful because those points you used could have won you a war that you have lost.
-Legacy weapon addicts- It is good to have one I know but dashing to get a LW when you already have one could cometime be a bad idea because instead of losing one LW your team has lost two.
Always share your legacy weapons it is actually more harmful to keep LW in your inventory (unless your whole team dies too much which is HIGHLY unlikely).
-If your a FA try not to travel alone with a LW because all it takes is a FB with execation and mana burn to keep you there and kill you.
-FA+LW+Mana condense potion+Magic mastery Potion+Bm1+AoS+lances=.

8-Chaos Arena- I’m sorry i can’t do this anymore but be glad because I didn’t ever do chaos arena once (I got no expirience). So by all means start searching the forums/webs on chaos arena info I think this is good though…http://www.cabalonline.com/low_features.html
Tip:I heard odd circlets were usefull…

Thank you for reading this (who am I kidding, thank you for reading some of this) guide. Kudos to those who red all of it in one go! I tried to proof read my work because well…look at my post count, no edit for me. Well lets say i got as far as 1-The Game (im serious) (please point out major grammatical errors)I kinda ffed. If this guide helps 2 people or keep one player from leaving then I feel this time I spent would be worth it. If I start gaming again and I find out how to work Imaging, I might upload pictures onto here (depending on how much this guide gets used of course). OH! Btw guess how long it took to make this guide? With the /facepalm fail guide deletion?
It took (60/30) x 6 + 3 hours and 4 x 3 minuites.!!!!!! Oh yea minus 15 minuites because I took a breakfast break. Oh and I started working on this at 10:44 PM.

8-Og Planet (Bugs and Help Desk)- Now you see a hacker running around and then you get stuck, your wondering what is Og planet doing?! Well Og planet is doing it’s best they will help you out when they can, you just have to give the shout. The proper step to reporting a hacker is to take multiple screen shots of him using his 3rd party program or use a video recording program. Then post the video or screen shot to a website that can store your files so that these files can be cached in the internet. Try imageshack for the screenie and youtube/xfire for the video. Finally go to support (the top of this website)>helpdesk> and then type your message and the required fields(don’t forget the screen shots!). Be patient the ticket can take 24hours to 2weeks to get resolved. Does help desk hate you? no lol it is because the Ogplanet staff are busy people and while they probably have people working specifically at the helpdesk, they are swarmed with messages from gamers (like you) from all the game Og planet hosts (not only cabal). Also they hafta check the legitimacy of the ticket. Say your a blader and you wanted to test your BM2 on unsuspecting noobs. One of the noobs could send a help desk with screenshots saying, "omfg this n00b h4x0r one hits meh!!1". Now wouldn’t that suck if you get banned because of that? Finally bugs are posted in the bug section of the forums. Make sure it is a proper bug, please read through this before posting http://newforum.ogplanet.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=10484. Try to incude a screen shot too if possible. Our server is getting cleaner now (less bots, hackers, and chat spammers) because of The Watch (I think it was founded by Kalaydrah). The name isn’t fancy or fiesty but it sounds immanent maybe impeding…no? The watch is a very effective program that runs on the power of the community >http://newforum.ogplanet.com/forum_topics.asp?FID=148. However, it is too effective by the looks of it and Kalaydrah is getting overwhelmed but this is a good thing! (Sorry kalaydrah if your reading this) because then the OG planet staff might consider giving the watch a little more priorities then some other areas that are not so needed. That said we should all extend or essistance when needed or just drop by in that forum to drop a few words of ecouragement!

8.1-Og Planet (Your Ideas)- omg i r smrt and i has gud idea where do i spread teh love? You post all your suggestions the the suggestions section of the forum for peer review. If it gets enough eyes it can catch the attention of Og planet staffs O.o. Now you got a suggestion like it would be cool if we got a guild house, new items/skills , new class, and etc. Sadly OG planet does not have the right to create or implement things like those because in order to do so OG planet would hafta take the game apart (reverse engineer scripts, codes, and w/e the shenanigan of a contraption they put in there) and that would probably be a breach of contract (one im guessing would be about intellectual preperty). So in short cabal Korea could  cancel their contracts with Og planet and then sue them. Does that mean Ogplanet got no power? Heck no they can help you, bring out teh ban hammer (and suspensions), and most importantly give us events. That being said should you give up with your suggestions? NO if your idea gets a general consensus from both the public and Og planet then that suggestion can be sent to Cabal Korea where they CAN implement your suggestions. It will just take along time
